  • Plz make a video on hamster care. From my "studies" I found out that there are only 3 GOOD hamster care videos.

  • I ment them not , hehe

  • Wow! This is pro. The best gerbil care vid. Ever! This is actually the way ou should care for the,

  • My gerbil shred the cardboard into bits, what do?

  • I watched this video like 50 times because it's so cute!(:

  • mine ,when i leave his cage open he NEVER runs out

  • good info

  • i did everything right except step 9 but i got them back

  • Thanks i'm gettin a gerbil this helped me alot

  • pine and aspen cause asthma issues in the gerbils. just because the reaction isnt immediate doesnt mean its not there.

  • @StudioVibe your not good with gerbils i geuss because aspen is good for them i have 2 gerbils that been in aspen for 2 and 1 have years and nothing is wrong and ASPEN IS GOOD FOR GERBILS

  • The gerbil looks so cute in the cartoon

  • People Miscalculate all the time!!! Pine will not harm your gerbils!!! i have 2 gerbils both 8 months old. They use pine!!!!! it dosent hurt them! its a dirty myth!!!!!!

  • @MrGangsta1550 ya but it's all right that's bad for girbles backs buy a bin and fill it half way with hay that should be enough exterzie they love to barrow

  • shit! No gerbil!

  • Well i got all of that but theres just one problem...my gerbils cannot run in the wheel its big enough for them but they still dont wanna run in it.they are soon 8 months old and im just asking if its to late to teach them how to run or want to run in it or if its too late plz answer i need help with this!!!

  • I've just got two Gerbils. Both male brothers! The store put their water in a dish but ive got the water bottle they dont semm to be using it. Plus the pet store only had cedar/pine so I got that its says it for gerbils, bunnys, hamsters and samll animals. Will this kill my gerbil :S

  • Can this aply to a syrian hamster as well?

  • my stomach tirned when the tail slipped off ewwww

  • awww cute vid

  • Getting one this weekend CAN'T WAIT

  • @officerof3 aww how are they do u have vids of them if u have them yet im getting some in 11 days

  • isn't 2-3 inches bedding not enough? in a lot of videos the people use 6-7 inches so that the gerbils can dig............how much bedding now? pls help

  • @sonbombe89 I would say you should have AT LEAST 4 inches but the more bedding, the happier your gerbils will be! It's in their nature to dig a lot and it's good exercise for them. My gerbils have ca 8 inches of bedding when it's pressed down (making the gerbils work harder to dig in it).

  • Finally, a REAL gerbil care video. Thanks!

  • love this video so cute

  • Wow, an actually CORRECT video on gerbils. (: So much better than that "expertvillage" shit. If anyone wants to know about gerbils, listen to this video.

  • no exersise wheels they damage their spines

  • Get like gerbil babies and more and more and more

  • Yes, their tails do come off, it does because mother nature made them a built in safety device. In other words when a snake comes along in the wild and grabs a gerbil by it tail the gerbil will un-attach it and run off. So please, do not pick them up by their tails :)

  • i'm getting my gerbil in may...I CAN'T WAIT!!!

  • @neilhd100 Me tooz. :D

  • Their tail... slips off... o.O

  • Can't wait to get my gerbal :D

  • @HabboHacksta I want a gerbil. X3

  • @ChibiWolves45 HeHe, I have a hamster aswell. There both cute xD

  • ok I mite have a dirty mind but "something hard to chew on?"

  • This a cute care video for gerbils! Though I do believe you are not supposed to give them lettuce and it would be better if tank cleaning was mentioned.

  • STEP ONE: DONT give your gerbil exercise wheel!

  • @MultiMansikka

No, you can give them an exercise wheel. If you get a solid-surface one, then it's perfectly fine.

  • @MultiMansikka why?

  • Ya umm my cousin had a gerbil and she hated it! She starved it and when it died she threw it onto the highway...

  • @WhatTheFeatherTV awww....

  • @WhatTheFeatherTV your cousin is very....Lovely..

  • Yay! Now I know how to take care of my gerbil... once I actually get one, that is. XD

  • Is it ok to give them a piece of wood?

  • @glaceon101able

Yeah; just not uber splintery. My friend's brand new one just died because ti splintered and choked him.

  • @ZooTycoon2Forever76 awww. ;(

  • @glaceon101able That's what they said. =3

  • 2 male gerbils = AN EPIC BATTLE

  • im getting a gerbil. my family chose mj and mario. so what name is the best mario or mj you got until 8:30pm .choose carefully

  • that is a great way for kids to lear how to care for a gerbil....p.s its a animation so kids will be iterested in it

  • cute animation

  • if your using this as a guide for guinea pigs, buying an excercise wheel or ball will waste money since their backs don't bend that way. also don't try and make them run in it you could seriously hurt there backs

  • I don't like the brittish voice (NIGHTMARES!!!!!)

  • its australia. not british

  • @CodeOfGerman It's australian actually

  • very helpfull. one problem why did they say seven inchs deep when the picture showed 2 to 3 inches.

  • @xRainProductionsx

    they totally said several brooo

  • Thanks for agreeing man. i subbed sub me back please. XD

  • first you would need a gerbil haha its like duhh you need one i love that part

  • aren't gerbils illegal in california since they might carry tuberculosis? just wondering..

  • i love it

  • and dont put em in the bedroom.. they make hell lot of noice!!

  • All of these apply to hamsters too,accept buy hamster food, syrians like to be housed alone, most dwarfs can be housed in same sex pairs though(;

  • that was the worst image.. the tail snapped right off

  • so cute~

  • hahahahaha

    gerbils like to make babies

  • makes a great dish rofl

  • muahahahaa!

  • Does this work for a hamster too? I've got one.

  • I grew up with gerbils! I love them!

  • aww, the gerble is soooooooooo cute!

  • it would have been nice to have seen real gerbils in this vid

  • This is a sad video! I was really thinking about getting a gerbil BUT i live in California and they are illegal here!! *cry* *cry*

  • wow are you serious? why are gerbils illegal in the state of california?

  • I heard it had somthing to do with if they over populate in the wild here, it will be bad for farmers etc.

  • do their cages smell and stink up the while room?

  • I seriosuly fainted at the tail part x-x

    IT REALLY JUST "slips off"!?!?!?

  • yup it does.

  • @999663isback yes it does, I used to have a gerbil, (I am probably getting another today) and my gerbils name was Scrambler. my sister kylee was playing with him and he fell and got underneath the couch coushins (sp?) and she went to pick him up. when she brought her hand up all she saw was the tip of the tail in her hand and a bit of blood. so the answer of your question is yes, it can.

  • @999663isback Yea, when I was little I learned that the hard way, one of our girbils got out, and it was running straight at an area that, if it got too, there was no way we would ever get him out. So I made a mad dive, missed him, accidentally grabbed the tip of his tail, and the skin popped right off. :'(

I felt so bad after that, I would rarely handle him. D=

  • @Catherine9041 but did he live or.....

  • @HeartButerfly He lived, though he had to chew the visible bone off....

  • @999663isback Yup, that's why if you have a ball for them to run around in, you have to be careful incase the breathing holes are too big. Then the Gerbil's tail could get caught in it, and ripped off. ='( I know it sounds gory but it''s true. Hopefully it will never happen to my Gerbils.

  • @999663isback yup.... just like lizards they do it in case a depredator gets them caught by the tail so they can get away while the depredator is distracted with the tail :P

  • lol

  • how long do they live?

  • 2-4 years, more or less.

  • 0.o fall off?

  • This video has very cute animations.

  • gerbils are not good pets..

unless you like to spend your time catching them.

  • Hamsters are waaaay better as pets. They don't bite or chew through their cage...=)

  • psh mice are the best.

  • Eww, no, mice are disgusting. You have to clean their cages constantly to keep the stink down.

  • psh, no, a rat is the way to go!(if your talking bout rodents) But ferrets are good to, but there illegal where I live!

  • my gerbil bit me, I put it in the bush behind my house (that lines the creek) it wouldnt run out so I dumped it and it rolled into the creek where it was quickly devoured by the hungry fish waiting below... (there were tons of guppys and minnows, they will eat anything lol)

  • Wait seriously, the fish ate him?

  • yes i laughed

  • I feal both bad, and amazed.

    Lol.

  • sick, inhumain person. My rat bit me, so i didnt just leave it somwhere, I took it back to the pet store. Wow, animals must hate you, no wonder the gerbil bit you...

  • 1. I didnt get it from the pet store

    2. there isnt one near me

    3. my mom told me to

    4. i have had tons of animals that are perfectly fine

    5. i didnt mean for it to fall in...

    6. dont bother replying because it will fall on deaf ears

  • relpy

  • okay.. if you are gonna be a smart ass and reply... at least spell "reply" right, cause I've never heard of a relpy

  • rofl

  • i typed fast, and i thought you said you werent going to reply to me.....

  • U MEAN RAPLY

  • I used to have a gerbil until it escaped D:... Gone for quite some time until I found it about to die in a trash can >.>...

  • Actually,

Picking a gerbil up by the tail, but only near the end where its close to its body, was voted the safest was to pick one up. It's not painful to them, if you're doing it right the tail shouldnt come off, and it's easiar to keep hold of them so they dont run off.

Just dont continuously hold them by the tail or itll get sore.

  • so cute!

    i enjoyed.

  • you wil l need: a girbil

    Well duh! lol

  • My gerbil escaped it's cage even though super-glued the exit he got out of.

  • he's cute))))

  • I wrote this with my penis.

  • how did it get hard?

  • Great video. My gerbil sure love to chew, and a plastic wheel is always a prime source for chewing.

  • "thump foot" Oh, hi John.

    "thump, thump" Hi there, William.

    "double thump" How are you? ;

    "five thumps" 5/5 video.

    Good work Howcast!

  • gerbil's aren't quiet,my gerbil wakes me upe every night

  • lol

  • this video makes me feel so niceeeee hahaha

  • aww that's so cute. (my ass)
