The final step shouldn't be left out: the "step vault", or as we call it the "speed step" is a very quick move and is more secure then a simple speed vault. Also it's usefull, because you don't have to lean on your arm that much - in comparison to the speed vault.

So if you've got a good runup, you will see that you don't want to grab the obstacle for such a long time. It's more of a really quick tap, which brings you back to the vertical running position. So in order to advance, try it faster.
