  • @bradder555 Sure looks like a rotary encoder to me. The LEDs are indicating direction, not gray code.

  • thats not quiet a rotary encoder because there appears to be no overlap in signals, if you have two LED's which are on at the same time, then LED 1 = NOT-LED 2, thus it doesn't really give you any information, thus you can only tell if it is moving not in what direction IE consider the signal clockwise 12121212 and anti clockwise 2121212 however drop the first signal and you can't tell. I like it tho, but you do need some sort of overlap
