@mchap38834 If Maggie Thatcher and Tory Party continued with the Poll Tax they would have lost the election and would end up with Neil Kinnock as Prime Minister.

@mchap38834 I think her Cabinet colleagues may well have begun to turn, but had she turned from the tax, they wouldn't have any ammo to use.
