The iPhone 3GS was a massive upgrade from the iPhone 3G. It came with exponentially more RAM, a better camera and video recording, along with a better graphics chip and and water-and-oil resistant finish. It also came with a 200% price increase XD

To even entertain the idea that the iphone could be any thinner is absurd. If you have ever taken a look inside an iPhone 4 you would know that the thickness of the logic board combined with the thickness of the processor and other components take up virtually the entire depth of the iPhones inside. And even shrinking the footprint of the components will not change the thickness.
