This just shows how good of songwriters The Flaming Lips are. This version really brings out the skeleton and backbone of the song and the melody is really nice and Sam puts his own acoustic guitar genius towards the song.

I think that all that matters is what the song represents to YOU. That's what art is about. That's how music is a way of communication :)
