Really, it's not so bad. I remember one year when Macarena first came out when I went to H.S. Me and my BFF's was suppose to do the macarena but we added a new twist to it and oh boy did we get into trouble. But the memories and laughter about it to this day is priceless. We were bad girls. lol
The First half of the video i was like"wow these girls can dance" the second half my jaw just dropped as the dance moves started getting completely sluttish
"Too Sexy", maybe not; "Too Easy", definitely. There were about 2 kicks, and one pathetic attempt at middle splits. I can assume that this wasn't a cheer/dance team; these were a bunch of girls who wanted to show off their moves at school.
Honestly, this is beginning jazz stuff. There were moments that were somewhat inappropriate (1:01, 1:05, 1:43), but for the most part, the moves were quite typical of many high school jazz routines. Still, most high schools routines I've seen use a hand full of slightly suggestive moves, but this one seems to have been made by taking all those mildly suggestive moves, throwing them together & calling it a dance. Mostly, I just feel sorry those girls that had to perform such a pathetic routine.

OMG! It's not bad at all! I graduated in 1993 and our drill team wore tiny little skirts and performed way more riske dance routines! Making a big deal out of nothing! They do need to practice though
Well can't say I see a big issue other then the moves are a bit stripperish, not something I would call dancing and the choreography isn't the greatest, but can't see it being banned.
How was this racy? They shook their booties a little, but what's wrong with that? Dancing is good exercise and young women should be in touch with their bodies, and not ashamed of them. :)

Speaking as someone who did dance team I see nothing wrong with this dance routine. It is actually pretty mild in comparison to other performances. I think parents just need to accept that dancing like this comes with the time in which students grow up. Everyone dances like this and in order to win in a competition you have to be like everyone else and better.
First, the whole routine would be awesome if they were in sync or could pull off the actual steps... but I believe I've seen this routine before by the Pussycat Dolls. Anyone know?

I'm an 09' graduate of Rio Americano, and I heard about this from my brother, who's a freshman at Rio.
This dance routine is similar to every other rally I've been to and the parents who claim the dance is too "sexy" are overreacting.
I've never heard of a single complaint from the parents when I was in high school and this is nothing compared to the mass media teens are exposed to every day.

This is ridiculously blown out of proportion. I was exposed to more suggestive dances than this at every rally and football game I had, in more scantily clad clothing as well, and we never heard one complaint.

Speaking as someone who did dance team I see nothing wrong with this dance routine. It is actually pretty mild in comparison to other performances. I think parents just need to accept that dancing like this comes with the time in which students grow up. Everyone dances like this and in order to win in a competition you have to be like everyone else and better.

I'm an 09' graduate of Rio Americano, and I heard about this from my brother, who's a freshman at Rio.
This dance routine is similar to every other rally I've been to and the parents who claim the dance is too "sexy" are overreacting.
I've never heard of a single complaint from the parents when I was in high school and this is nothing compared to the mass media teens are exposed to every day.
BTW, my brother said this happened on the 1st week of school. Why complain about it now?

I just saw this on News 10, I'm 19 and graduated in '08.
This is ridiculously blown out of proportion. I was exposed to more suggestive dances than this at every rally and football game I had, in more scantily clad clothing as well, and we never heard one complaint.
The purpose of these dances is to provide entertainment. If the girls want to flaunt what they've got, why are we getting up in their faces about it? It's part of high school culture, quit whining about it you old people.

Someone send them to So You Think You Can Dance so they can hear they can't dance from professionals and see what real dancers look like at the same time.
