@GenevaSwiss I'm not sure you get the point. This was no planned assassination. It was a tragic FOCAL POINT that became a metaphor for the brutal, unjust and stifling government. It was not an accident, but she was targeted "ad hoc" as someone who was one of many to be attacked to show the price to be paid for protesting, for not toeing the line. Did anyone order her execution? No. Was this an accidental use of excessive force? No. The man shooting was not using rubber bullets. He murdered her.
That is ridiculous. All of these witnesses ring true, to my extremely skeptical ears. Could this happen in the West? Absolutely. That is missing the point. There is no civilization that is perfect, or even close The point is this; what to people beleive is representative of their own lives? For westerners, its not anything new or significant at all, except that we hear it is widely viewed by repressed people in Iran, that THEY sense its metaphorical power. THEY want to invoke it, not the USA.
