I belive the issue is a virus on your machine, simply because if the logon and startup screen works than i highlet doubt its just a loose wire or cable and i also doubt its a driver glitch because it would glitch at startup as well
dude i was using CamStudio it wouldnt close down i went to task manager i clicked it and pressed end task and my screen went all weird till i moved the mouse then it cam up with a tiny bit of my screen and the rest in a creamy colour and i moved my mouse all over and thats how. but i know how you feel when u think its gonna brake......i felt real fucked up and i still do cuz it happend 2 minutes ago
my laptop has a problem when i use it at random times the screen goes black and nothing i do works to turn it back on until i reboot the laptop altho when i hit buttons to like open windows or somthing it moves arount ETC PLZ HLEP ME
and test the external monitor with your laptop if the result is good on it then you do need to replace " Inverter Replacemnet Unit" if the result is still bad on that as well you need to buy a new graphic card. could be very expensive for latops from original brands.
you need to buy " Inverter Replacemnet Unit" which will cost about $5-$10. open the laptop screen which is allocated just behind the screen. or try to test some internal monioter cable first befor you buy the Inverter Replacemnet Unit
that happened to me but the blue and pixel screen u got didn't happen to mine. mine just starts and restarts and restarts so i cant go on internet and stuff help????? i have the same laptop as u :P
google hplies and go to that website submit your info and support the case against HP! They refuse to take care of this issue our only option is a legal avenue.
This is a known defect that occurs 12-15 months after purchase. This problem occurs with issued nvidia chips. DO NOT PAY FOR REPAIR YOU DESERVE A FREE ONE! A class action suit is in the works!
on mine the screen has gone fuzzy, like were there are dark colours its just gone all red and fuzzy with lines on it used to do it then it didnt do it for ages now its done it again its so anoying i hope it goes away :(
As already mentioned, I had it fixed and it turned out to be a motherboard problem. Also talked to them and resolved a price of 300 dollars to repair all and everything. They agreed mainly because I complained it happened a week after the one year warranty had ended and that it was ridiculous it died so soon.
The GPU, which is permanently soldered to the motherboard, must be 'reworked'. It is a BGA (Ball Grid Array) component. I offer repairs for laptops with issues stemming from faulty solder joints on BGA components like the graphics processor on this laptop's motherboard for $80 + return shipping. I am laptopmiscellaneous on eBay. Please contact if interested.
I negotiated a repair price with HP to get it fixed. I was pretty upset about it going crazy a week or two after the warranty so they agreed to fix anything and everything for 300 dollars. What I did try is the above comment but nothing worked. So I disconnected the lcd from the computer and made it forced to use an external display but got the same image. It got so bad that it would not show anything at all. My guess is the card itself is bad or the lcd or the motherboard or all.
It's a video card driver problem. Start the computer in safe mode, F8, when you start up your computer. Go to start and type device manager, hit enter and locate display adapter, go under it, right click and select uninstall. After that reboot the computer normally. You will need to install new drivers. I had the same problem with a desktop computer after installing nvidia system tools and if you do have it, uninstall it while your in safe mode.
Half of my screen is just lines like that.... And I'm stuck (where I type my password) help

I don't think it will go away most of the time those are signs of serious problems, just depends which problem it actually is.
pitchcomic 3 years ago
I experienced the same problem with my 5 -day-old HP DV6910us. I took it back to the store I bought it from right away.
I don't think it's the Screen. I can assure you it has something to do with your graphics card rahter.
Good luck at getting it fixed, I know HP will want to charge you half the price you paid for that laptop.

its not the screen more likely the graphics chip fault
