Pretty enough video, but ohhh the music playing during the end credits is so... well, not good. It would have been awful anyway, but after a song as amazing as The Calendar Hung Itself, it was even more unacceptable. Such a shame, because it ruins the mood of a brilliant Bright Eyes song!

I disagree. I beleive that emo is a genre of music, perhaps a sub-genre. Bright eyes sings about emotional issues/topics. But so do all other bands. If any emotional song writing was "Emo," then Aerosmith would be emo, along with Alicia Keys (because they both incoorperate emotional issues in their lyrics). If you ask anyone on the street if Alicia Keys is Emo, I can guarentee you'd get the answer no for the majority.

sorry, this video (like a lot of photographic interpretations of songs on youtube) uses WAY too many direct references. with songs like this images shouldn't be as direct, they should be symbolic. They should use more technique to portray the emotion felt through this song instead of just the exact image of the line that was said. not to mention, use picture YOU took, not ones you googled that looked scene enough.

I agree. It seems that too many people are incapable of understanding the song beyond their literal interpretation of the lyrics -- which really requires no interpretation whatsoever. It is almost as if they are dumbing down the song for you.

For example: "Does he walk around all day at school with his feet inside your shoes?" is a line that is basically asking, "Does he always consider your point of view?" If you keep making direct and literal references, you may miss something like that.
