It takes about two hours every month to bath and brush my 25 lb Shiba inu+60 lb Siberian husky. 1st, i brsuh their teeth(recommended by vet). then i trim around their genetals+in their ears. then i brush them all over, making sure to get all the loose hair. then, i give them a bath, washing and rinsing them twice, to make sure i got all the dirt and hair. then, i blow dry+brush them.blow drying makes their hair very soft and beautiful!!
i agree she should be using a dryer with a long tube and only brush the fur up to get the hair dry. i also use a blaster that get rid of all the dead fur and any other things in the dogs coat
The result of people grooming their own dogs at home is dogs being scared of grooming tools and dryers, then when they get to a grooming salon, they are impossible. Continue listening to this lady, and that'll happen with your dog quickly. She is not using the right dryer, like what is that? Not using the right brush And you dont really brush and dry at the same time, you dry with a PROFESSIONAL dryer with a long tube and settings, and dry in circular motions to fluff. Then you scissor the dog.
Holy cow I couldn't agree with you more. I was just browsing for some vids on grooming my westie and came across these poorly explained videos. The result is me taking my pup to a real professional who knows what they're doing. I'll just bath him and brush him in-between grooming visits.
@lologirl18 Maldita loca tu, you dont have to call bitch this lady, show your good manners or the bitch will be you, more respect is need to show here.
Hate to comment when I know nothing about grooming. I'm just wandering why you don't use a self standing blow dryer instead of straining your arms?? too expensive or something maybe?
My friend and I tried to blowdry my Great Pyrenees... we both had blow dryers on him and we sat and sat and sat.... finally, we blew a fuse. My Pyr was still soaked.

Not to be rude, but this lady doesn't know what she's doing. She's not even using the right tools.
