@Bytewize Tailgating someone at 20mph on the highway? Why tailgate anyone, ever? And the system operates on relative speed difference, not proximity alone. If the car in front of you stops, the Volvo will attempt to stop as well. I should not let you get so close to the car in front that it will not be able to make an emergency stop/greatly minimize damage.

Better training of drivers, anywhere in this planet drivers get licences too easily, some of these people who are now car drivers are not able to even ride a bicycle safely...

what we need is not drivers, what we need is pilots. Should be like pilots are certified, an big amount of hours, simulators, and an incredibly hard final test...

maybe then we wouldn't kill each other on the streets...

I've just realised something that I dont think they have. if a volvo...of all things...brakes infront of you in say...america it's good for the driver in financial terms. you don't hit someone elses car...someone hits your £25k+ big volvo means you don't get sued but the person who went into the back of your volvo can be sued. basically volvo have basically invented a tailgate killer...go volvo.

Yes, Volvo XC 60 is very safe and what not but i think volvo should also think that they are making drivers very unattentive and quite lazy. I am not picking any side but this is my oppinion if the car is too safe then where is the "fun" in driving.
