When I became a Chrisitian eight months ago I was told by my pastor that all homosexuals will burn in hell. Last week I read a study from a respected seminary that shows that Jesus had homosexual relations with the disciples and that this is one of the reasons he was killed on the cross. I work with some gay men and have been telling them that they are going to hell. Now I find out that Jesus was also gay. I feel like a hypocrite.
Homosexual behavior is a sin, any sin not put under the blood of Jesus will send anyone to hell. Jesus was without sin, therefore he was without homosexuality, if you believe Jesus was a homosexual you might as well throw the whole Bible away. Any writings suggesting Jesus was homosexual in any way are a fraud. God is worried about all sin not just concentrating on homosexuallity. I don't have any respect for a seminary that says Jesus was a homosexual, simply not Biblical or historical.
@FlagshipApostolic Either that, or you can throw out Leviticus and Paul. Both were later and contradictory additions to each of the Testaments, so it would make sense to take them with a grain of salt. After all, if God were ever to protect and keep true earthly renditions of His Word, it would have to be through the integrity of researchers and historians. You shouldn't be so quick to dismiss the possiblity that Jesus was homosexual.
One of the verses that this study uses is from the Gospel of Thomas where Jesus kissed Mary Magdelene passionately. John then asked Jesus why Jesus loved Mary more than he loved (the other male disciples.) Other reasoning this study gives that Jesus was a homosexual is that historians have shown that the majority of groups of unmarried men living together in Jesus day, such as the disciples and Jesus, lived homosexual lives until they were married. I guess I'll have to appologize to my coworkers
@robertjohnson487 First off, what does being unmarried have to do with homosexuality? Second, Jesus loves all no matter and that certainly does not mean He loves males in a sexual way. He loves all like family and he died for his family and I thank GOD for His Perfect Son! I love you too but that does not mean I'm gay. I am a straight male period! I will continue to pray for you.
Thank you brother for sharing this Word with us!!!! God bless you....

Christianity is responsible for genocide, war, destroying cultures,
destroying languages, theft, slavery, rape, murder, sexual abuse...
And that's just the direct stuff.
Then there's ruining lives with guilt and shame,
larcenous tithes and "offerings",
addictions, mental illness, suicide, despair...
What bitter, bitter fruit!
