  • Hi guys. aall the people that say wing chun is no good are rarely the kind of people that learn it b cause it has nothing to do with looking good and impressing people ( unless you run into someone that is good at it then you would be impressed ). It is not to go out and attack people with rather to defend or stop people like that. If you want fancy moves stick to the movies. Also ip chun's wing chun does not come from ip man so he isnt that good. Bye guys.

  • wing chun, peace of soul body and mind. MMA ego meat heads will mostly be having hip /knee replacements in their early 40s.

Wing chun will have you down the second you challenge the mun sao. Just accept it you steroid mugs

  • @DAZBOY79 and then you wake up?

  • Oh, and alot of Wing Chun places do not have the proper equipment to teach you Wing Chun.

  • If you have a proper Wing Chun stance, no one can get in. If your Wing Chun stance is shit, then thats where there is a problem. When my friends say "lets fight" I just get in my stance, and they get pissed, cuz they dont see an opening.

  • I even hit a kickboxer friend, he had his guard up, I just came in with 1 punch, he could not handle what I did. I barely tapped him and his jaw cracked, he could not eat. You cant dodge Wing Chun strikes once they are in effect. See, in other martial arts you hit the person wherever. But in Wing Chun there are certain areas your supposed to hit, so it is effective.

  • Also, I had one of my classmates throw hooks, straights, uppercuts and he was moving. Did not touch me once. See, the Wing Chun you see on youtube is fake. No one has ever seen real Wing Chun in front of their eyes. Thats why a Wing Chun fight only lasts 5 seconds or less. No one has time to record, cuz its over. You people need to understand what your talking bout.

  • This is funny, people saying Wing Chun sucks. The place I train at for WC, not of the students lost a fight. 7 guys tried jumping a student there, 3 went to the hospital, and 1 ran away with a broken nose, and the rest just ran out. Then, a guy broke into a girl's house (she is a student) and the guy tried strangling her, she left him with no teeth and he lost an eye. There are many stories, alot of these people think they know what WC is, but they dont. You have to have a good teacher.

  • I have seen many times where the short man could have been knocked on the face many times. He is way too slow.

  • Lovely video, but it's a pity that Ip Chun was never in a match or fight of any kind and never had to use wing chun EVER in his lifetime, so he and everyone else will never know if HIS wing chun was effective.

  • whats the name of this badass song?gnos ssadab siht fo eman eht stahw

  • what's with the slo-mo all of the sudden? trying to 'emphasize' something maybe?? hmm? maybee?

  • your so lucky to get a chance to do that... Hope your still practicing

  • I am just starting my journey in studying Wing Chun! love this video!

  • @GetAJobBro whers your proof?

  • There is only one thing better than watching 2 poofs do this twisty arm faggotry and that's watching one trying to use it in a real fight.

    Side step hook....game over.

  • Obviously you are not a true fighter, martial artist. If you want to be you have to show some respect.

  • @dogooda12 I don't want to be a "martial artist" because by todays terms it means being tricked to swallow bullshit thats ineffective if not downright dangerous in a real fight. Not to mention none of them seem to endorse full open combat with a fully resisting opponent. This breeds a false sense of security and also explains why most "martial arts" sefu's don't want to demonstrate their skills in a real fight. Oh my art is far to deadly for sparing....yeah right.

  • @myjizzureye True I can understand what your saying but Wing Chun is not in the category of "ineffective" Beimo was full contact no holes barred fight on the roof tops in Hong Kong. Grand master Wong Shun Leung participated in the Beimo and never lost a fight! If your talking MMA, Boxing there are rules- in a street fight where there are no rules I would beg to differ who would come out on top. Practicality is the key right? Wing Chun works on economy of movement and what works in a real fight.

  • @dogooda12 Bullshit, straight up bullshit. Wing Chun is flawed as fuck and DOES NOT work on the street with anybody with the slightest experience. The footwork is shit, you leave arms exposed and open to submission, there is almost zero defense for hooks, and the punches (due to poor footwork and hip rotation) have no stopping power. This has and is demonstrated again and again. (continue)

  • @dogooda12 (part 2) If you think somebody who is trained at kicking and punching live fully resisting opponents and moving targets is going to be less likely to land a punch to the throat or a kick to the balls then some fag playing twisty arms with a wooden dummy then you are a space cadet. You get into a fight and give somebody one of your fairy straight arm girly punches he may knock you out and leave it at that. If you try to gouge the same guy in the eye its now fight or flight and you die.

  • Ok clearly you are an MMA enthusiast and have not a single teachable bone in your body and have simply raved on without any true understanding about the actual effectiveness of Wing Chun due to your lack of understanding of the system as a whole. Chi Sau is not sparring it is a sensitivity exercise the wooden dummy is not taught until you have a strong grasp of the first three forms, along with there applications. A hook punch would be pointless because by the time it reaches me you'd be KO'd

  • @dogooda12 I speak from experience. I am yet to take a WC punch that did anything but piss me off. WC is great for fighting somebody else who is using WC but with somebody who moves laterally, keeps distance, uses angles and above all...knows how to put power into a punch...WC loses every single time. I have asked WC guys to "break my knee" as they claim would happen and yet to see anything that even slightly bothered me in the ring...most refuse to fight. (continued)

  • @myjizzureye ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU I WISH TO CATCH IN A BACK ALLEY AND BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF YOU. JUST TO PROVE YOU WRONG. MMA IS NOT GODS GIFT TO THE FIGHTING WORLD. ANOTHER INTERNET TOUGH GUY WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN IN A REAL STREET FIGHT.

  • @BLACKARMCHAIN3 I don't engage in street fights because

    1) I don't hang around places frequented by trash

    2) To be in one you need to more or less incite it

    3) They normally involve spastics like you who want to sue after being one punched KO'ed and banging their head on the concrete as they go down in front of a street camera after inciting the fight with their mouth anyways.

I do however open spar people who ask or want to try at gyms. Something wankers like you always decline.

  • @dogooda12 Again and again I hear talk of "scientific method". They say oohh its so much more power to use a straight punch, just like poking somebody in the face with a baseball bat rather than swinging. That is factually false statement. I define anybody to hit a baseball out the park by used the butt end of the bat in a shunting motion. The lack of power was also clearly demonstrated on "fight science" with the pressure pad. There is NO science in WC, just bullshit.

  • @dogooda12 Name me one single fighter on the whole planet who has held ANY belt at any level of cage fighting who has used strictly WC only techniques. I can name you 100 for BBJ, MT, and even TKD for christ sake. Its bullshit, it fails at everything apart from stripping simpletons of their money. Its worse than religion. To find this out factually for yourself enter in any open cage competition and see how you go. For somebody with so much faith what do you have to lose?

  • @dogooda12 Lets try to use some logic and reason here. To say something is old and therefore is somehow mystical and better is retarded. Science just as sport advances every single day. What was perfect for training Olympic athletes in the 80's now would not even see you get past qualifying today. Everything advances. What did the job for 4 foot tall farmers 100 years ago will get your ass handed to you today. You need to study in more depth and start asking logical questions.

  • @dogooda12 If you study the back story of WC you will start to see its replete with complete bullshit. Just try finding historical documentation of figures and events from the Kangxi era or details of Ng Mui and you will start to see. Nobody has the same story, and not all can be correct. Regardless it is spastic to think that somebody 400 years ago knew more about science or the physics of body motion than whats known today. Olympic records get broken for a reason...

  • Oh my gosh you are so long winded. I'm sorry but your unteachableness is actually hindering you from learning anything useful. I don't care for the cage, once again rules apply. give me a back alley and we'll see who comes out on top.ME!MMA is good BJJ is fantastic and TKD is fine too.I've had experience in all of them, as well as JKD which in my opinion was the antecedence of modern MMA. I'm not here to defend the history of WC only the practical applications of it in a real fight here and now

  • @dogooda12 The science is definitive, on the crash dummy the shaolin monk who defected to NY registered 700 pounds per square inch. The boxer they pulled from the local gym resisted 1600 pounds. I live in Foshan guang dong. The younger generation want to test WC and are being quickly cleaned up by people with a few months training in just MT. Its a case of big fish in small pond. /watch?v=5AKFNCIJdvA This is a clear demonstration of the lack of defense to hooks. It does not work period.

  • @dogooda12 As for not being able to be taught....that is far from true. There is no one size fits all. I wanted to know what worked and the only way to find out was to test it. What I found shocked me. I looked at the facts from the cold hard reality of open combat with fully resisting opponents. I had to adopt my own guards as MT guys would constantly catch me with elbows if i used boxing, stop high kicks as BJJ would grab my leg and take me down, but WC NEVER came close at any stage.

  • @myjizzureye Hooks are far too slow and easily blocked if you learned wing chun you'd understand.

  • @nozzey222 Learned wing chun? I live in Fo shan you fucking moron the spiritual home of "the chun". WC's fruity pak sao gayness does not have a chance at blocking an elderly man poking at you with a news paper let alone somebody with footwork who can hook. WC's complete and total ineffectiveness and "heir of mystic" bullshit was delt with in the first 2 seasons of UFC. Its a joke, does not work, and if you are paying to do it you are getting fleeced.

  • @myjizzureye Just because you live somewhere doesn't mean you learn a particular martial art you muppet. I careless for your opinion anyway because its already proved valuable to me in what your saying its not effective at doing.

  • @nozzey222 So you managed to slap Greg the accountant at your Mc Dojoe and when Bill from the local green grocer was unable to deal with your amazing "chun" down the pub you got the idea that was effective. If that's what helps you sleep at night bro have at it.

My guess is you have never and never will enter any open MMA tournament to see if all that time spent attacking a stationary dummy and doing twisty arms blindfolded has paid off. Lets hope you do :)

  • I like to watch vids like this a second time (at least) paying attention just to the body posture and position and ignoring the hands, it gives you a lot of insights of who is actually doing better, cross referencing with bjj, it is always position before submission

  • 1:21 IS THE BEST REFLEX

  • I am 17 years old and trained with the UK Wing Chun Kung Fu Association from the age of 5 until the age of 12 with Sifu Tony Jaywant. Wing Chun did not only teach me to defend myself, it more importantly taught me to be disiplined, open minded, and gave me the ability to walk the other way! I have avoided a number of fights due to the lessons Wing Chun taught me and use the fitness theories of Wing Chun to this day. Genius stuff.

    Peace and Love

  • thanks ip man ,bruce lee, jeet kune do n wing chhum for teaching me u metrial art,,,,,i'm had number 3 in sparing teakwando

  • wing chun vs teakwando???hwho win??

  • @JuniorMagicBoy As anyone will tell you, it is the fighter that counts, not that martial art. Wing Chun at this level, is deadly, Master James has beaten masters across different martial arts. But thats not to say a different fighter couldn't one day beat him. Wing chun is just very good because it plays upon the rigid style of other martial arts in some cases, and although classed as a "soft" martial art, I believe wing chun to be very potent

  • This is incredibly beautiful and a real gem for me to watch as I was training under Sifu James SInclair in 1987 and remember when he came into contact with ip Chun and how that period was an exciting one for all of us. People do not realise how amazing an instructor and fighter James is. Even after all this time I have the upmost highest regards for this man. Thank u so much for posting this online.

  • I am a student of Master Sinclair. Aside from being a very nice man, I promise you that his personal skill in Wing Chun is spectacular. He is very able....VERY!

  • THIS IS Ip Chun, Ip mans son NOT Ip Man

  • Too many people concentrate on hand forms while their structure and foot movements are rubbish, because the foot work aspect can be quite boring.

People just don't have the patience, they just want to hit straight away.

Good structure teaches you to relax, i see a lot of good people in the UK but their too stiff and are way too fancy!!

Ex Pat Taiwan, Gary Lam WSL Lineage.

  • did ip tell him elbow in more?

  • what a complete joke.

  • I learned from one of Sinclair's students for a year and it made me far worse at fighting/sparring.

They have some weird ideas there and pass it on like its clever stuff.

You'd be better doing boxing for a couple of months or hitting a punch bag on your own than training with the UKWCKFA.

I moved to train in Sam Kwok's association and found it really sensible and simple and I can now handle myself well in sparring against most opponents in most styles.

  • @kelly980 haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa(dumbass)aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaa

  • @kelly980 you know what the strange thing is? both Kwok and sinclair learned from ip-chun,sinclair also learned from simon lau, but kwoks wing chun looks more powerfull and effective, he has done chisau against the full force of a former uk strongman.

  • @theoneandonly200x kwoks wing chuyn has structure which is lacked by sinclairs wing chun, it seems like sinclair was not taught properly by ip chun, I can tell you what sinclair lacks in structure he makes up in all the other attributes of a fighter, i.e. speed, but his style does not work for others, i.e. short people.

  • @kelly980 So you're knocking Ip Chun, not wing chun?

  • @sickness324 OK, the thing is, in my opinion, Wing Chun is harder to do than most styles and isn't worth studying for fighting. You can defend yourself against a good fighter if you train hard in WC, but won't be able to dominate someone good. On the other hand you can also defend yourself against good fighters if you learn muay thai and wrestling properly and chose to fight defensively, plus will have a more dangerous attack at your disposal.

  • @kelly980 Okay. I disagree with you heavily, but alrighty.

  • @sickness324 on which points? I have 2 questions. 1, have you ever had a competitive MMA fight (I know there are rules, but it does help you get a feel for how a good fighter works, and gives you an idea of what you are up against in a real fight)? 2. Have you trained Muay Thai and Wrestling in depth so you understand the systems?

  • @kelly980 1. to each his own and 2. thank you for answering my initial question, but I really don't feel like engaging in another Kung fu vs MMA debate or this style is better than that style and so on, right now.

  • @sickness324 Thank you for responding and being so polite. I don't want that mma vs WC debate either. However, I do think everyone who does WC should do some proper MT and wrestling training, just so they have a feel for what they are up against, and make decisions on martial arts with more knowledge in the bag. Also, it will probably improve your WC, just by looking at it from the other side.

  • used to train with sinclairs lineage became good at it, then got completely distroyed by another schools student in a freindly chisao sparring, the guy was half my size but was so much more relaxed and had emense structural power in his chi sau, this power is lacked by all the people i trained with in sinclairs UKWCKFA. now I train with any school under W,Shun,Leung lineage, sinclairs lineage is all about using strength &reaching as much as you can. Gary Lam would effortlessly destroy him

  • @theoneandonly200x

If you genuinely knew what you were talking about you would know how silly your comment - "Gary Lam would effortlessly destroy him" - is. Having seen lots of so-called masters, it's clear that at his peak James Sinclair was leagues ahead of the rest. His reward has been a career plagued with the jealousy of those unable to develop their Wing Chun to a level that is fluid enough to work in a real situation. The critics say more about themselves than they do about Sinclair.

  • I think you'll find Master Sinclair is being very respectful here and not wanting to demonstrate his skill of fighting. He could press down at any point and win with his long reach, but that's not the point!

Watch his other videos if you want to see what he can do.

  • very bad chi sao. No stucture, looking for hands. Really don't like it. Cannot really developp fighting ability I think. Chi sao must develop hitting idea and lat sao jik chung concept, not playind indefenitly with hands only. If there is nothing= punch. If there is an obstruction= deviate the obstruction and punch in the same time. Wing chun is about hitting with fundamental idea of not only stopping the opponent's attack but attacking him in the same time we defend.

  • @Apokalupsis974 Were you just criticizing two masters of Wing Chun? If they're not to be called "Masters" or "Sifus", then at the least, they're incredibly adept, beyond most people on this planet at Wing Chun. What're your credentials?

  • I'am not citicizing them. I just give my opinion about what is showed on this video, not considering who they are. I don't have any credibility, I perfectly agree with you. I just technically comment what I see, there is no will to be disrespectfull. We can exhange ideas about it, may be you can explain why this chi sao is good. Nothing is perfect because a famous man do it, it's up to you,it depends on what is expected from chi sao/gor sao.

  • @Apokalupsis974 You would be shocked what the old dude would do to you if you tried to hit him, and as for james sinclair, don't even bother as he is a master and would distroy you in seconds and you know why.....because he did ALLOT OF THIS WHAT YOUR SEING HERE. If you learn to stop a punch you learn how to throw them right. Peace

  • @masterkudjo You're brainwashed. The little old man would be beaten up by the average angry 15 year old kid, whilst Sinclair would be beaten up by a half decent amateur kickboxer or US college wrestler.

  • @kelly980 I will not get into a tennis match debate. I will only state that it would be

not only foolish to underestimate someone because of their age it would also be dangerous. No he probably would not win in a wrestling match against some stupid young kid with youth on their side, how ever as I said a fist fight may end differently.

  • @masterkudjo I wont get into a tennis match debate either. I will just clarify that I was not only referring to wrestling. I also think Ip Chun would stand no chance in a fist fight either. Against any angry 15 year old that was in any way fit and healthy.

  • @kelly980

    kill yourself ya dumb bitch

  • @Sikaretts intelligent comment

  • @kelly980 justin bieber vs ip chun... FIGHT!

  • @adzii Fatality.....

  • @kelly980 What about an angry 15 year old GIRL?

Some of the little bitches in the UK are getting well dangerous I can tell you.

  • @DippShits yeah, a 15 year old girl would have him.

  • @kelly980 Then your seriously deluded.

  • @nozzey222 ok not a girl but a big, aggressive 16 year old boy

  • @kelly980 exaclty

  • wow ! amazing :D

  • this is a gem of a video, thanks for posting
