  • I sometimes wonder if the supposed gay characteristics of liking show tunes, flower arranging, decorating, dressing with style or at least "a hint of color", etc. aren't just another stereotype. An indication of a strong feminine trait that doesn't always have a sexual component but is labeled (a primate habit we desperately need to eradicate) as a sexual aberration none the less. Whose nose does it skin anyway? Freedom can't be limited to only cookie cutter copies of yourself.

  • @MrMdc671 It's interesting because I know lots of straight men who also have those characteristics, and many queer men who lack them. I know I was effeminate "naturally" at an early age, was tormented because of it and had to crush and hide it as much as possible. Then when I came out I overdid the drag and queen mannerisms in a burst of celebration. How much is natural and how much is learned behavior I cannot say.
