AIleen never would have been what we call a serial killer, had her parents - or anyone for that matter - given a damn about her in her childhood years.

This is a true but sad story about how a person can end up when they are reared in a family with no love. Aileen, I believe was never shown any type of warmth, compassion. She was treated as a "thing". I do not condone what she did, but I can also understand why she killed. A person can only take so much abuse and then they will either kill themselves or another person(s). I believe that Aileen made her peace with her Creator and is in a better place.

I think some of you judge based on what you see in the news, which (for the most part) is mindless bullshit. Read about her life and the things she went through. She was killed for killing men that may or may not have actually raped her, but still their intentions weren't weren't going to be innocent. It's sad that rapists really do get lighter sentences or released quickly and therefore pose more threat to society...If the killings were self defense from rape, she did us a favor.

this was a beautiful tribute i loved it. I feel for aileen she had a horrible childhood something no child should have to deal with her grandfather was a sick bastard everything he did to her grandparents are supossed to protect their grandchildren not abbuse them. i am not saying what she did was right but neither was killing her she needed help.

I agree. Aileen was a victim all of her life. She was raped at least nine times. Even by her own grandfather. When she was a child, she was constantly ostricized by the other kids. She was kicked out of her home and lived in the woods in a lean-to she built. She had sex with neighborhood boys for money and cigarettes. Also, she had severe Borderline Personality Disorder. I feel for her I also have BPD. I know that's no excuse for what she did, but she was at the end of her rope.

I agree with you.
No one seems to consider her being raped and all that, and of course,... no offense,.... most roles in the movie and that played part at her real trial were probably males.
I do not hate males, but I damn them for what they did to her. I do not excuse her actions, but I also think that, the males who raped her, ...if we are speaking of fairness here, should have been hung!!

I understand what your saying, but remember the men she killed werent actually innocent. Not that they deserved to lose their lives but they ,did in fact, put themselves in that situation.
Picking up hookers and/or hitchhikers runs that potential risk. People take their chances knowing that this is a possible outcome.

Could not agree more with what xXeX1TXx. I wish that someone could have prevented those moments when she had to make those tough decisions to Kill. It is easy to blame her for those deaths and may be for some of the victim's relatives..she deserved to die. But behind that sea of rage in her eyes you could see a human being pleading ...almost saying " if I could change those moments". It makes me cry looking at her, because she is one who was actually killed by circumstances rather than the law
