This treatment is not approved by the FDA. In fact there are no steroid suspensions that are. One commonly used steroid is called Depo-Medrol. It is also not approved by the FDA for this use due to the large number of severe adverse events reported to the FDA's Med-Watch division. Your "consent form” may not include all the facts. Depo-Medrol steroids are "not recommended" by the drug maker Pharmacia/Upjohn-Pfizer because the risks do out weigh the benefits. Consider yourself warned!
Wow! Excellent video. My wife is having this procedure tomorrow morning. After watching this video it made both of us feel alot more at ease. Wish that Dr. Kang worked here in Omaha Nebraska. I've talked with people who have had this procedure and for some it works and others it did not. We will find out tomorrow if this helps my wife with her leg and calf pain.
Hi my name is nighthauler cb name i am going to get mine lumbar epidural ijection done soon i hope because i have plate in my neck and lower spine and here in the past few months are so i have been getting nonthing but pain in my neck mainly and now since the cold weather is almost here thats not going to help either but i guess you do what you gotta do right too get better and i went to the er last 2 fridays ago and had bad micraine headaches and stress from pain so we see how it goes with me .
This is just another Big Pharama Quackery!!! Its Just Big Pharmas easy way to make more money. This is just a waste of time and money. Fuck you Big Pharma and Fuck you FDA. Im Sick and tired of these assholes!!!
For the word "cortisone", you wrote "cortizone", and for "vertebrae", you wrote "vertibrae", both of which are incorrect. You may know your stuff, but a medical practitioner misspelling medical terms makes me slightly uneasy.
I'll be admitted to hospital on Monday & I've heard they may be giving me an epidural to numb below the waist, because I have a bizarre condition with my right foot (the slightest touch, even with a hair, is excruciating & I've not been able to move my foot without severe pain). The whole point is to make my foot easier to move, but I'm nervous about getting it done, because I'm reminded of a time where I had to have 2 lumbar punctures in a row (1st time failed). Is an epi the same as a LP?

This was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you! After having 4 epidurals for my kids....and a blood patch on my spine (cos the last epidural outshot its target and I leaked spinal fluid) I'm dreading having this procedure done! I have 4 discs that are basically non existant, maybe due to wear and tear, don't know really. Due to have this done soon, I needed to watch it tho! Thanks :-)
I've done physio, I'm taking potent meds to combat inflammation and pain - and still....... it gets worse. I'm off to have an epidural soon! I HATE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!
@Marmalade000000 Hey man I have chronic lower back pain. It flares up when i do weights etc How did you go with your injection ? Im thinking of doing the same
Lostsock31 & HlubOs- Hope injections helped, but sounds like you need more than injections if the discs are bulging or you have numbness in your leg! I had one herniated a couple of years ago, I started to get numbness and nerve damage in my leg, had surgery, and fixed my back. My leg numbness hasn't gone away, but that is because the nerve roots were compressed by the bulging disc. Waiting to take care of the bulging disc may just allow more damage to the nerve roots, in my opinion.
I have to get my 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th disc done tomorow and I'm absolutely bricking it!! My 3rd to 5th disc are damaged and caused the nerve endings to be damaged allso, my 2nd has a bulge in it with slight nerve damage.
Do you think they will do each disc, one after the other and wil I be staying in after them for the next night?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thinking of going into hiding after seeing some of these videos?!
hi would you please answer. i'm kinda confused. i have to get an cortisone injection in a few weeks.. but the thing is.. my back doesnt hurt anymore... it was hurting about a month ago and family doctor gave me some meds.. the pain went away the next day... but my right leg and heel is numb. kinda loss of feeling. so my question is.. will this thing help get my since of feeling back.? and do i still need to do this even if my back doesnt hurt? thanks.
@HlubOs You should see your doctor about the numbness, it is not necessarily normal. The cortisone is a steroid designed to reduce inflammation within your epidural space (shortly put, it is much more complex), that inflammation Could be pinching a bundle of nerves which in turn would lead to the tingling, numbness, etc in your legs. So in theory, the cortisone injection could potentially restore normal sensation in your lower extremities.
I had one done on March 12th. The numbing shot hurt for about 3-5 seconds. I did not feel the big needle at all. Mine was fluoroscope (x-ray) guided. I have L5-S1 disc protrusion and my left calf muscle felt like it was going to explode, I could hardly walk at all. On March 14th, two days after the injection, almost all of my calf pain was gone.

its all about the dollars, this is what all the doctors ive been to lately want me to do. they have taken away my percocets and lortabs and say we aint giving you shit unless you get the shot, fuck'em aint nobody doing that shit to me. no different than a pill, just a longer form of temporary relief
@ifimlyinimbryan just so you know so you're educated, many oral pain relief medications are harmful to your liver when your body has to metabolize them. Also, "Perks" are addictive and you shouldn't be utilizing them as a way of pain management.

Even though the patient says it is the only way he has been able to resume normal living?
