  • We did this for English class. I was George :D

  • I LOVE THIS RADIO PLAY! AGNES MOOREHEAD IS BRILLIANT!

  • I've listened to this for years now. I have loads of these on tape old shows on tape. Agnes Moorehead was the greatest with her over dramatizations. Ever see the movie Dark Passage? Also, this one is slightly different than the version I own.

  • Really enjoyed listening to this, A.M. was such a good actress, and she portrays this character so well, that her fear is palpable. Was hoping she wasn`t the intended victim though.

  • The 2nd man with the european accent sounds like Gru from DISPICABLE ME.

  • Agnes is simply superb.

  • Agnes was so underrated- she played secondary roles in some of the greatest movies made- from "Citizen Kane" to "Magnificen Obsession" to "Dark Passage" and on and on. She was in the movie "The Conquerer", filmed downwind of the Atom bomb testsite in Utah- and all the principal actors died of cancer, including Agnes. She is most remembered as Endora in "Bewitched', which maddened her. She wanted to be a leading lady, and it never came to her.

  • This broadcast still gives me chills

  • did you hear that... "Mr. Stephens" and "Office" and "The Client" sounds like a the Bewitched Characters.

  • We used to have a vynal album of this for some reason and we'd listen to it every now and then as kids. I haven't heard this in over 20 years! Thanks for posting!

  • Agnes Moorehead won the New York Film Critics award for this performance in the early 1940's. A very prestigious award. She was nominated at least three times for the academy award but always seemed to be overlooked. She should have received an honorary Oscar for her total contribution to motion pictures. Her role of "Velma" the maid in "Hush, Hush... Sweet Charlotte" was one Oscar nominated performances. And frankly as far as I'm concerned she won it hands down.

  • I have to agree that she was amazing on Bewitched, but that wasn't the only great role she had. Agnes Moorehead could play any part. She was perhaps one of the greatest scene stealers of her time and to to this day. No one could top her!

  • @endora721 I quite agree. I thought she was amazing during those times she acted in The Twilight Zone. She was in a few of those episodes.

  • She was amazing on Bewiched!

  • Isn't it ironic that such a talented and capable actress is most remembered for her role as ENDORA on "Bewitched"?

  • thanks for sharing!!! i used to have an old tape of this when I was a kid.

  • One can see why Orson Welles chose her. What a brilliant actrress! Duluth, Minnesota should be proud....

  • I listened to this when I was a little kid...it always scared me SO bad...! This and one called "Caller on Line One".

  • @Zadinak Because of the media around now this can no longer be that scary. but it is really really entertaining.

  • I take it SHE is the intended victim.

  • Thanks for sharing, I heard this on Sirius Radio Classics last night, great Radio Drama.
