I found out that the panel needs to be replaced. I checked EVERY search engine known to man and NOT ONE has the info about how much it cost to REPLACE the the panel if your warranty expired though. NOT ONE!!
Anyone wo can't see the banding & clouding must be blind. Look at the foreground, not background, especially around the on screen cursor and you should be able to see it easy. It's like mine and it covers the entire screen.
I can see it straight away, I have the same problem with my Acer GD245HQ. It looks horendous, but unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it, except get a replacement or a refund and there's no guarantee that the new one will be any better.
I have Circuit City coming out today to look at, then replace mine. You can't see it much on your vid, but you are talking about the dark horizontal bars running across the middle of the screen right. Mine does the same. Also has some thin vertical banding.
Really only see it when you or whatever your watching moves up and down or left and right. That, and when it's just a straight dark image on screen.
two of my cousins have Vizio 42 inch 1080p LCDs and they have no problems in their picture quality.
one of my other relative has Sony 46 inch 1080p lcd and even that shows no banding/bars on it.
i got my sharp and within the 1st week or use i started noticing these bars and i was so dissappointed.
it is true that this issue may be in all lcd tvs but SHARP is the one that has the MOST banding issues. so be advised and dont hesitate to go for a brand like Vizio.
i have similar banding issues on my sharp. there is like a 3 inch horizontal bar that goes from lower left all the way to the lower right side of the lcd screen.
there are more vertical bars that i see and the are like 2 to 3 inches apart from each going from top to bottom.
the easiest way to tell if there are any bars (banding) on ur lcd is the very same way that is show on this youtube video.
i just got my sharp 52 inch and i never thought that sharp would be this bad.
what game is this?

I would call that horizontal banding, since they go from left to right, not vertical, and I can see about 8-10 bands total from top to bottom

I see the banding (mine does that, too).
When he moves up and down, it looks like everything is in one-inch horizontal layers. It still seems like a nice TV.
