See in all the textbooks they teach pitchers to put their hands down to the ground for a grounder. From my experience all I do after I finish my motion is turn my glove around and open right in front of my chest exactly for this reason alone, I can react down faster than I can up because the body is already going down for you after release. So most of the focus should be your upper body, which is also the most forward to the plate after release, which just further affirms my reasoning.

@stepjoans Composite bats aren't illegal. They are very legal. Two-piece bats are also legal. What they did is reduce how fast the ball will come off the bat. Essentially, they made them act like wood bats.

@Martyr9991 yes exactly, I have a new composite bat the only difference is the certification which is BBCOR rather then BESR. BBCOR is like you said more "wood" like. It still has good pop though and if anything will force players to swing harder.
