I heard it rains a little bit everyday. We planned on going at the end of aug, the height of hurricane season. But it's soooo much cheaper. :(

seriously?? i stopped the video at the part where it says "I think dominican republic is a Safe country" which is just plain ignorant... i lived in D.R for 10 years, yes it might be partially safe in a resort (which is just that a resort! not a the country) try going out, try walking in punta cana on the street alone, you can easy get robbed, assaulted or killed, don't get me wrong its a beautiful country but also very dangerous. just don't go out of the resort unless you know someone from there

wow the majestic elegance is the best resort ever. i never had such a good service in my life, and the food is great, lots of sea food it was perfect.

Too bad that the majority of the citizens of the country do not even get a quarter of the standard of living that these hotel guest receive. Like it has been mentioned it's a beautiful place, if you can afford it's beauties.

@Dorisequador, I was there with my wife for a week in April 2-9, 2009 and a week in February 5-11, 2010 at the Majestic Elegance. I wish I was there right now. I love this place. Wish I could retire there. There were a few hiccups the first year as they were only open 4 months but nothing bad. I had no complaints the second year, everything was perfect. Going back for 2 full weeks in March 2011. Punta Cana here I come. Love the Elegance and the Bavaro beach.

well..its kind of safe...its just if you go in the city,at late night,wearing jewlery,something might happen..but anyway the resorts and hotels there are better than american one's because in most american hotels and resorts,you don't get food.but in dominican republic hotels and resorts,they give you food for anytime of day,and,everything is beautiful.
