@jellybean8080: are you saying that "all of this song" is Chan Marshall's voice and arrangement (which is prettier than the 1995 version, but not particularly different)? Also, I can guarantee you that Marshall would not be happy about whatever that sentence about "semi-attractive" was supposed to be.
Yoko Ono is pretty bad. I give cat power credit for all of this song, not yoko ono. just listen to the rest of her album. this song isn't even that good, it just seems good because the rest of her album is a complete joke. why couldn't at least a semi-attractive/musically talented woman?
@jellybean8080 If you're talking about "Yes I'm a Witch" album, it's a pretty good album on the whole. Played it a lot in the car. Loved the duet with Screaming Lips (Cambridge 1969). Give me Yoko Ono any day to the awful watered down pop rock of McCartney/Lennon in the 1970s.
you gotta admit- she has a great sense of humor to name her album "yes I'm a Witch" after being called all sorts of things over the years. and for people who say she can't sing, she can, maybe she just prefers a different style these days than songs like this.
Yoko goes 'off key' with the same panache of Lou Reed...is it a New Yorker's prerogative? (just a joke)...
Bless her for what she is, and for getting John out of the all-boy prep-school clan called The Beatles (bless them) and giving him achance to mature next to a real, complex, intelligent woman... but this is just a nobody guessin with abit of love , gratefulness, and instinct.
What a beautiful lyric... I feel sorry for her, she was slandered by media and people for nothing. She was not the one who broke up beatles. Yoko is a wonderful artist with so much love inside.
Why does it zoom in on her boobs at 2:14?

I respect Yoko-san as a person however, you can't turn the clock back on what has happened grow up and act like and adult.
The singing is dreadful, even the piano sounds out of tune.
What goes on in her head?
Give up trying to be in the public limelight! It is time to call it quits.
You try to over do everything.
Life is hard wake up to reality.
You are no longer a young person.
With the greatest respect to John may he rest in peace.

"Sea Of Love" is one of Cat Power's songs! I love this album and love Yoko Ono.
And how effing amazing are these lyrics? This could so be a spoken word piece.
KlonopinSaves 2 years ago 4
@KlonopinSaves
"Sea of Love" isn't Cat Power's song. It's John Phillip Baptiste song covered by Chan Marshall.
