It's a bit painful to listen to. The poor guy must be tired or something. As a singer myself, I can imagine that he's thinking he wishes he was somewhere else. It's impossible to be in shape everyday, especially when you have to do interviews, photo shoots and all the other things that go with fame, when the only thing you want to do is play in front a crowd. Beautiful song but not an easy one if you're worn out.

I agree with all those who say touring has tired out Ryan's voice.Most live versions I've seen of this song show how tired his voice is;it's sad because we all know how good he is when it's not in this state.

I don't think they're trying to dub over his vocals here.I do studio sessions a lot and if the feedback speakers are too loud during recording,you hear that time-delay feedback coming out same ways you do in a concert.You can tell,because the adlibs in the bridge are match for match.

you can see they've been trying to dub the choruses and stuff xD Or at least done something peculiar with the mixing, cause it was out of sync. Anyways, they make great music, and they know what they're doing... (despite the fact that mix was fucked up) Very clean voice on a good day, and the guitar parts are simple, but appropriately simple :)
