I like the idea, it just doesn't sound right, slow it down just a bit, have your vocal percussionist hold back a bit. He's overpowering you guys, and just let the sound flow. The song is based around harmonies, not tempo. work on that and I think you guys would have an amazing sounding song. You have the talent, it's there, just some kinks need worked out.

I don't think it's so bad. It's rushed, I agree. Definitely, things could be better stylistically. But it's a live performance here, and it may also be worse on the recording. Some tuning issues, but it didn't fall apart.

I think it's pretty hilarious! They have good voices. Good energy. Good memorization. Good projection.

I hate to do this, but...this was really...terrible. There are two essential roots to acapella music: 1) All of you have to stay in rhythm, and 2) All of you have to stay in tune--it doesn't matter if it's in concert pitch or not, but you have to stay in tune. You unfortunately failed profoundly at both of these. There are more criticisms people can make, but they all stem from those two devastating flaws.

False, Africa was created before their version of 'The 12 Days of Christmas'. This is sped of version of the original 'Africa'. Straight No Chaser just used it in their version of 12 days. SNC also does Africa, look it up. :)

I dont think this version was too fast at all. I thought they did a very good job at blending. The only thing I didn't like was how the singer sometimes got drowned out by the other performers. It sounded good, but the lead should have been louder.

And the guy in the maroon jacket and yellow shirt was entertaining. He really got into it near the end.

Thanks for the comments. As far as speed goes, yeah, it was way too fast. We were doing the version by Eclipse which is pretty fast already, but we sped it up even more. This was the first time this group had ever performed (and so far the last time) so of course we went fast. It happens, but oh well.

From a slightly more critical point of view (don't get me they did an excellent job) I think the speed of the song has put too much stress on several of the individual voices, there were a couple of points where the singer had not yet had chance to establish a note with their voice before they had moved on to the next one. It's a shame really, slow it down and it think it would sound much better...
