Hi colette I got a question for u: how do u control the smell and fumes from nail polish? I remember when I was younger and my parents tell me not to do nails in the bathroom because of the inhaling chemicals and stuff. I was wondering how and where you do all your nail stuff? Please answer if u can, and thank you!
@Number1ChoChangFan I just work at my desk, the area is pretty well ventilated & I have an air purifier in the room also so that probably helps long term to clear out any lingering fumes =)
Do you know any brand or colors of polishes that are just so opaque that they can cover your whole nail in one coat without any "bald spots"? I'm wondering because I have a Wet 'N Wild orange and it took like 3 coats to cover my nail without it being way too thin! It kinda peed me off!
@bananabieber11 they are out there, but there's no specific brand, it's going to vary every color - one with very good coverage off thetop of my head is China Glaze Millennium, which is silver =)
@yaz101202 I use a new piece or cut off the part with polish on them - they are pretty cheap, only a few dollars for a pack of 3 big ones at Michaels =)
@oxSugarBabe if you have shorter nails, I'd suggest thinner bands or only 2 colors - I just posted pics on my blog of my mom's latest manicure & it's sponging, her nails are very short =) & yes, my nails are natural
@thesportgirl18 I try to keep my nails moisturized, lots of lotion & cuticle oil & I also take a biotin supplement – you can check out my Nail Maintenance vid for my full routine. I do occasionally get a tear or break but you can check out my tutorial on silk wrap patching for how I save those nails =) I do "Naked Nails" posts on my blog every month or so where I talk more about like all the specific products I'm currently using.
I really think that if you would of done the black and then the glitter on top in the mid section there it would of looked smoother and a cleaner look. but overall i love all of your videos i seen all 105 of them lol! and no i am not stalker i just think you are really creative. I became a perfectionist to ur water marble designs and i do it to all my family and friends lol they just love it and so do i thanks for you time to us i enjoy it!
how do you clean your sponge cause i've got so many sponges also the little ones from konad but i dont know how to clean them, and nail polish remover isn't working that good
@OumSnaai95 I don't clean them, they are cheap enough I usually just toss them after a manicure because the polish dries deep in there & they get all hard =)
@lovemac100100 I usually use 100% acetone to remove glitter polishes, and the foil method if they are very stubborn - check out my poloish removal vid in the tips & tricks playlist =)
I love love love love love this. It's gorgeous and fabulous and I can't wait to try it. I always get excited when I see your videos in my subscription box. Thanks!
I love long nails and yours are fab! when my nails are long i have the exact same nails as yours . nail twins! lol but alas, i work in a library and my nails don't last very long. you are very creative! Thanks for sharing.
Do your nails feel really heavy when you do it? Because iv tried other how tos, anf my nails vhipped and broke and smeared cuz of the layers! Ok. Thanks!!
hi u kno how u did the glitter coat first, could the black coat be done first then the glitter? woud it come out with the same effect? jus so the black coat can look a lil smother n less bumpy? this look is slimply gorgeous!! i love ur work
@altimablackberry you could for sure do it in that order, although it would change the design a little. I just usually always work from my cuticle up but you can start at the tip =)
@selahstar I try to keep my nails moisturized, lots of lotion & cuticle oil & I also take a biotin supplement – you can check out my Nail Maintenance vid for my full routine. I do occasionally get a tear or break but you can check out my tutorial on silk wrap patching for how I save those nails =) I do "Naked Nails" posts on my blog every month or so where I talk more about like all the specific products I'm currently using
@xkilledxxcupcakex I almost always start at the cuticle & work towards my tip when sponging - but there's nothing wrong with doing it the reverse either =)
This is absolutely stunning girl and your nails are so pretty :) I wish I had long beautiful nails like that so I could do more looks like this.My nails arent very wide :( I love the colors you used and I didnt even know CG had those colors so Im def gonna see if I can find them.I do have a question tho.I tried the sponge method b4 w a makeup sponge but could nvr get the polish on it enuf can u tell me of a sponge that might work better?? Thank you so much Merry Christmas and a Happy New YEAR!!!
@twiztedsweetness21 the sponges I use are a little more porous than most make-up sponges, the package says "synthetic artist sponge" & they come in a 3-pack at Michael's =)
Excellent Video - The colours used are well suited to the design and the type of design is well suited to the length of nail you have.
To cut your nails would I feel be a shame as nail art from an artistic point of view always looks better on a greater surface and the medium is more pleasing to the eye as the flair and passion is demonstrated. Thanks for posting and Season's Greetings !
@brad12050 I agree, I actually love them at this length and I've agreed having a bigger canvas for the holidays - but I've been nursing a really bad break on my index & I am sick of maintaining the patch now that it's grown out past my fingertip =)
It's so funny that you are doing this design. I was thinking about doing a design similar to this for Christmas/New Year's using a red color as a base and a gold gliter nail polish on the tips. I'm going to use a makeup sponge for the gold glitter polish. I'll keep you posted on how it turns out. Thanks for this tutorial, it's really beautiful.
I love this design! It is very elegant. I am working soo hard to grow my nails out longer :) I am soaking them with extra virgin olive oil almost every day, cleaning up the cuticles daily, and am being more careful with what I do with my hands/nails so I don't split/crack them. :)
@ladybootyful One thing that REALLY helped me grow my nails was a nail hardener called 'Nail Magic'. I had basically stubs, and they were very weak and would bend and break easily... but after about 3 months of using Nail Magic once or twice a week, I noticed a dramatic difference. You can find it at Sall'ys Beauty Supply for about $8 dollars, it's a little pricey but extremely worth it. You really should try, it's an amazing product.
