  • Hi colette I got a question for u: how do u control the smell and fumes from nail polish? I remember when I was younger and my parents tell me not to do nails in the bathroom because of the inhaling chemicals and stuff. I was wondering how and where you do all your nail stuff? Please answer if u can, and thank you!

  • @Number1ChoChangFan I just work at my desk, the area is pretty well ventilated & I have an air purifier in the room also so that probably helps long term to clear out any lingering fumes =)

  • Do you know any brand or colors of polishes that are just so opaque that they can cover your whole nail in one coat without any "bald spots"? I'm wondering because I have a Wet 'N Wild orange and it took like 3 coats to cover my nail without it being way too thin! It kinda peed me off!

  • @bananabieber11 they are out there, but there's no specific brand, it's going to vary every color - one with very good coverage off thetop of my head is China Glaze Millennium, which is silver =)

  • Do u clean ur sponge every time u use it or do u get a new piece?

  • @yaz101202 I use a new piece or cut off the part with polish on them - they are pretty cheap, only a few dollars for a pack of 3 big ones at Michaels =)

  • @simplelittlepleasures Can this be done on short nails?

  • @CraziboutJewelry yes - you just make the sections smaller or stick with only 2 colors =)

  • What type of top coat do you use??

  • @Mrsblessedlikethat almost always Seche Vite =)

  • WILL THIS WORK ON SHORT NAILS? sorry caps :P

  • @misszimmy97 yes, you'd just need to make each section smaller =)

  • Can we apply the black polish without the sponge?

  • @TheSuddenLove you can but you won't get the same gradient effect =)

  • I loved this!!! I tried it and it looked great!!!

  • Hello umm how do you apply the tape like where to stick it and how to stick it

  • @daniqua11 check out the taping tutorial under the Tips & Tricks playlist in the information box to see how I apply it =)

  • Do they sell nova at sallys?

    please reply, and thnks ;D

  • @CL4UDi4xx I'm not sure - I got mine online =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues oohh thanks :)

luckily i found a glitter tthats alike ;)

im going to do this for my birthday today :D

  • This is sooo gorgeous!!! I can't wait to try this!!! :)

One question though, if you have shorter nails .. It won't look as good. Mine are medium length, any tips?

Oh & if those are your natural nails, DAAAAMMMNNN ! they're long! :O !! Mine always seem to crack...

  • @oxSugarBabe if you have shorter nails, I'd suggest thinner bands or only 2 colors - I just posted pics on my blog of my mom's latest manicure & it's sponging, her nails are very short =) & yes, my nails are natural

  • How do u get ur nails so long and keep them that way ?

  • @thesportgirl18 I try to keep my nails moisturized, lots of lotion & cuticle oil & I also take a biotin supplement – you can check out my Nail Maintenance vid for my full routine. I do occasionally get a tear or break but you can check out my tutorial on silk wrap patching for how I save those nails =) I do "Naked Nails" posts on my blog every month or so where I talk more about like all the specific products I'm currently using.

  • I really think that if you would of done the black and then the glitter on top in the mid section there it would of looked smoother and a cleaner look. but overall i love all of your videos i seen all 105 of them lol! and no i am not stalker i just think you are really creative. I became a perfectionist to ur water marble designs and i do it to all my family and friends lol they just love it and so do i thanks for you time to us i enjoy it!

  • Thank you, I've been wanting to do it for a long time but didn't know how.

  • Oh ok thanks. I will definetly try those stores so again, THANKS

  • sorry i posted 2 times!

  • wow that is really pretty! cool i may try that!

  • wow that is really pretty! cool i may try that!

  • how do you clean your sponge cause i've got so many sponges also the little ones from konad but i dont know how to clean them, and nail polish remover isn't working that good

  • @OumSnaai95 I don't clean them, they are cheap enough I usually just toss them after a manicure because the polish dries deep in there & they get all hard =)

  • This vid is right on time I love the look

  • I love this technique!!! Its fab, im off to raid the detergent cupbourd for sponges!

Do you have any tips on removing glitter nail polish? It takes me absolutley ages with ordinary nail polish remover zzzzz!!!

    Thanks

    xx

  • @lovemac100100 I usually use 100% acetone to remove glitter polishes, and the foil method if they are very stubborn - check out my poloish removal vid in the tips & tricks playlist =)

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • can u do that with diffrent colors??? tank you!!

  • @mrsmama121 yes, you can use whatever colors you want =) I've done it in blue before also

  • so Frenchy. ( I ment like so French nails!!)

  • I love love love love love this. It's gorgeous and fabulous and I can't wait to try it. I always get excited when I see your videos in my subscription box. Thanks!

  • 2 THUMBS UP

  • I love long nails and yours are fab! when my nails are long i have the exact same nails as yours . nail twins! lol but alas, i work in a library and my nails don't last very long. you are very creative! Thanks for sharing.

  • Do your nails feel really heavy when you do it? Because iv tried other how tos, anf my nails vhipped and broke and smeared cuz of the layers! Ok. Thanks!!

  • @celestesworld23 it is thicker than a normal manicure or a water marble, but it wasn't to the point where I felt like they were heavy =)

  • i love this!

  • This is really awesome, i love your designs!

  • hi u kno how u did the glitter coat first, could the black coat be done first then the glitter? woud it come out with the same effect? jus so the black coat can look a lil smother n less bumpy? this look is slimply gorgeous!! i love ur work

  • @altimablackberry you could for sure do it in that order, although it would change the design a little. I just usually always work from my cuticle up but you can start at the tip =)

  • very pretty!!!! i wish i had long nails. there is not many designs for short nails. i dont know how to make em longer. they always chip and stuff.

  • @selahstar I try to keep my nails moisturized, lots of lotion & cuticle oil & I also take a biotin supplement – you can check out my Nail Maintenance vid for my full routine. I do occasionally get a tear or break but you can check out my tutorial on silk wrap patching for how I save those nails =) I do "Naked Nails" posts on my blog every month or so where I talk more about like all the specific products I'm currently using

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues thank you. i will look into these videos. your information has been handy.

  • so pretty! and it's so simple to do! Thanks for the tutorial

  • I love the look! so could you also use a makeup foundation sponge to apply the nail polish as well?

  • @ElectricLadyT you can, but usually they are not as porouse as the one I use, and it can be harder to pick up the polish =)

  • That's so hot <3

  • i'm so glad you did this! i was just contemplating what to do with my nails for new years.

this is definitely what i am doing.

  • I always look forward to your nail designs.. I love your ideas. This design is so elegant.. Love it!

  • your nails are always awesome!

  • Very pretty- my nails are MUCH shorter so I don't think it would work on me, but this is a beautiful look for someone with long nails!

  • shouldn't you start with the black and work down? why did you do it the other way around?

  • @xkilledxxcupcakex I almost always start at the cuticle & work towards my tip when sponging - but there's nothing wrong with doing it the reverse either =)

  • Beautiful!!!

  • This is absolutely stunning girl and your nails are so pretty :) I wish I had long beautiful nails like that so I could do more looks like this.My nails arent very wide :( I love the colors you used and I didnt even know CG had those colors so Im def gonna see if I can find them.I do have a question tho.I tried the sponge method b4 w a makeup sponge but could nvr get the polish on it enuf can u tell me of a sponge that might work better?? Thank you so much Merry Christmas and a Happy New YEAR!!!

  • @twiztedsweetness21 the sponges I use are a little more porous than most make-up sponges, the package says "synthetic artist sponge" & they come in a 3-pack at Michael's =)

  • Love it! Now I want CG Nova so badly ;D

  • that must be a pain to get off

  • @jomom6969 it wasn't too bad, but I did use pure acetone =)

  • Wow, very beautiful and elegant.

  • trop beau !!!

  • So Pretty and Sparkly O_O i like *grins* I know what one of my New Years look will be ~_^ Thanks Collette

  • Excellent Video - The colours used are well suited to the design and the type of design is well suited to the length of nail you have.

To cut your nails would I feel be a shame as nail art from an artistic point of view always looks better on a greater surface and the medium is more pleasing to the eye as the flair and passion is demonstrated. Thanks for posting and Season's Greetings !

  • @brad12050 I agree, I actually love them at this length and I've agreed having a bigger canvas for the holidays - but I've been nursing a really bad break on my index & I am sick of maintaining the patch now that it's grown out past my fingertip =)

  • new years!!!!

  • love the design. so classy :)

i really love your nail designs but your nails are just too long :|

  • @PianoGirl555 LOL too funny since someone else just said they are perfect length - to each their own I suppose =)

  • @SimpleLittlePleasues I dont know about perfect length or not, but they are considered for long still...

but its good to see they are being taken care of well :)

    keep doing vids :)

  • I can just imagine the nightmare of taking it off ;)

  • Wow.....it looks so great ^_^ I love it ^_^

  • Love it!

  • I really like this :)

  • very pretty

  • OMG love it

  • Can you do a video on how you shape your nails? They look so even and nice.

And I love this tutorial! I'll probably do this soon.

  • @shaiinuhxx I'll add it to my to-do list ... I'm, going to be cutting them down after the holidays so maybe I'll do it then =)

  • awesome!! when my nails grow more i'll try it

  • im soooo stealing this for new yearssss!

  • I say at the end of your videos "as always freakin' awesome" lol You are the best!!!! Merry Christmas and keep these videos coming I wait for them :)

  • It's so funny that you are doing this design. I was thinking about doing a design similar to this for Christmas/New Year's using a red color as a base and a gold gliter nail polish on the tips. I'm going to use a makeup sponge for the gold glitter polish. I'll keep you posted on how it turns out. Thanks for this tutorial, it's really beautiful.

  • OMG! ! Freakin' beautiful! ! ! ! !

  • Very Very Pretty! Thanks

  • cute, i had another idea of how you did it. i thought you put the black first and the glitter last.. sweet though.

  • Love Fairy Dust...I need to expand my China Glaze collection...

  • cute!

  • I love this design! It is very elegant. I am working soo hard to grow my nails out longer :) I am soaking them with extra virgin olive oil almost every day, cleaning up the cuticles daily, and am being more careful with what I do with my hands/nails so I don't split/crack them. :)

  • @ladybootyful One thing that REALLY helped me grow my nails was a nail hardener called 'Nail Magic'. I had basically stubs, and they were very weak and would bend and break easily... but after about 3 months of using Nail Magic once or twice a week, I noticed a dramatic difference. You can find it at Sall'ys Beauty Supply for about $8 dollars, it's a little pricey but extremely worth it. You really should try, it's an amazing product.

  • Your Nail length = perfection

  • @you2berules thank you =) I happen to agree, although I'll be cutting them down some after the hoidays =)

  • ADDED AS ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!

  • you are so amazing!! i wish i was half as good as you are at this, and your nails are amazing! im working so hard to grow mine longer :)

  • U ARE SO BEAUTIFUL! AND AWSOME AT ART! :D
