Great video! I've been going to the gym for a month now and really love it. I started off so self conscious and I felt so out of place but now I find that I don't care what other people think and I realize that they're not even looking at me anyway! The gym has forced me out of my comfort zone and helped with my confidence for sure.
The gym is definitely my biggest stumbling block! I want to start running to and have tried C25K, but will pick it up again in the spring when I am more ready...The gym scares me! The next challenge though, is I want to take a pool class...the next day I have off, I'm gonna do it!
its so nice to hear so many people have the same fears... especially since i haven't been to the gym in months and like everyone else... next week is the week i always tell myself I'll go back! Hearing that everyone dreads the treadmill running and gasping and jiggling in front of people looking like a hot mess... well... damnit I'm heading back THIS week!
Shanti! I'm sorry your sick again! Stay positive and get lots of zinc! I also just wanted to add, that for me, the gym has turned into one of my "spots". I have people that I've become "gym friends" with. There are people that I know will always be in spin class or body pump. It's just become such a positve experience that I actually look forward to it at the end of the day. I think for me one of the things that I'm working on getting over is complacency...what a bitch!
I have been avoiding the gym, because it is so small here in my little town. Instead, I have been building my own gym (Treadmill, Elliptical, Gazelle, stationary bike, free weights, workout ball, resistance bands, Wii-Fit, games and videos, etc.) at home...

going raw :D that pushed me to give up unhealthy food, and learn to love plain food, and understand that nothing else is really needed. :D

My biggest challange: getting over sugar. Took me three days of major withdrawal symptoms.
