  • absolutely outstanding.

  • one of the best versions i've seen on youtube, aside from the original. love love love it. splendid performance!

  • this is absolutely awesome...the recreation and the energy put forth in the routine is amazing. Even with the limited stage space they made do and that is commendable. It's also stupid to compare this stage performance with the movie Camp. I like the performance in the movie but this was great wish i was in the audience to see it

  • Started out good, then got sloppy. Much talent was on the stage but needed better direction to reign it in.

  • outta control. all the other versions on here SUCK except the movie CAMP. a bunch of teenagers rocked it out. the revival on Broadway with sean hayes sucks. this number there is slow and boring. CAMP rocked it and this group knocked it outta the park. their moves are hot and loved it

  • @mbutehorn Camp also was a movie, complete with as many takes as needed to get it right, editing, sound mixing and pre-recorded tracks. Not live. Cut them some slack or get on up there, bust your ass and sing some high C's at the same time.

  • WOW!! Really great!!!!

  • I can't believe that I'm admitting that I cried happy tears while watching this. True tears of happiness! Beautiful and faithful rendition!

  • Absolutely wonderful. I so much like this number from PP but it always seems a mistake to try it. I thought this would be so awful. I'm glad I watched. Ms. De La Hoya could have worn another dress to the office party and that's the only valid criticism here, her dancing was fabulous from start to finish. Great orchestration and dancing. Thanks for posting.

  • Ms. De La Hoya's dress was really distracting but overall a really great number :)

  • Who played Ms. De la Hoya in this clip? She's fantastic.

  • @mds1978

If I'm not mistaken, Ms. De La Hoya was played by Donna McKechnie, the original Ms. De La Hoya in the original production.

  • @aarmaber Right, I know that...I wanted to know who was playing that role in this clip, which is obviously not the original production. she happens to be quite good.

  • omg this was amazing-the dancing was supurb-at one point it almost looked like as if it was being fast-forward

  • is there a karaoke instrumental for this, to perform on stage?

  • This was brill!

  • im gonna use that word now...brill....mmm....i like it!!!! lmao

  • Wow, I loved this in the theater at New World Stages and love seeing this here, too. Lovingly captures the immediacy of the live performance. (I love the version in the film CAMP, too, but of course that's made up of many takes edited together, while this captures the feel of what it was like to be in that audience last December.) Congrats to everybody involved!

  • GULP!

Sacrilege, I know... love Bruce Kimmel, no insult to all the benefit talent on stage... but I was unimpressed, Weak vocals, mediocre dancing...my summer college production 25 years ago blew this one away. One of my favorite numbers from ALL musicals, check out the recreated version in the film CAMP- now THAT one gets me out of my seat every time I watch it! This one left me feeling "ho-hum":.. sorry to all for the bad vibs I got watching this video,,, :(

  • Almost as good as seeing it live!! The energy just jumps off the screen. Bravo to the performers, the director Bruce Kimmel, and especially to choreographer extraordinaire, Adam Cates!

  • i know! i love the energy!!!!!!

  • Super cool! Thanks for posting!

  • What a joy of a number! Wonderful to see this on youtube, where it can be savored over and over again.
