A man died for every sleeper used on the Death Railway in WW2. My father was a prisoner of war of the japanese, and thankfully survived to come home at the end of the war. Thousands weren't so lucky.
There were many nationalities that worked building the railway, asian, chinese, british, australian, new zealand etc. They were treated worse than animals, and their sacrifice should never be forgotten. If anyone visits Death Railway, please say a prayer for those that built it.
