First of all this: The Lumina SS is an exceptionally impressive ride. I owned the American Version and loved it..even with a v6. MY buddy owns an LS2 GTO..if they came in the Lumina i'd drive one in a heartbeat..one of the ONLY GM cars I'd own..then again it is one of there better built cars (GTO/commodore/CV8/VX)/ 2ndly I do drive a Ford, and that Mustang GT in THIS video IS NOT a 5.0. 5.0 hasn't been offered since 1995.

WHP (Wheel horse power) is what really matters, which is what the number that the car is putting down after all the parasitic losses. This is the Hp you can FEEL when driving

hey black mustang...look at the words closely at the beginning of the video...hes saying the GTO is a 2004...the mustang is a 2007...and they are pretty evenly matched..i believe the 04 GTO, since its got the LS1 with less HP then the 05 and newer GTO, is a couple tenths of a second slower then the 05 and newer mustang GTs
My mistake and thanks for pointing it out. The 2004 GTO LS1 specs are as follows: weight3,725 lbs./350hp/torque 365 ft-lbs./0-60 5.5 secs/1/4 mile 14.0 secs. Still close at 0.4 secs. I think driver skill would decide the race making the person at the wheel of the Mustang incompetent.
I did a little research instead of just flapping gum. The stock specs look like this... per car specs listed on various sites (most all of the info is from Edmunds). 04 Mustang GT/Weight 3,347 lbs/HP 260/Torque 302 ft-lbs/0-60 5.5 secs. 07 Mustang GT/Weight 3,356 lbs/HP300/Torque 320ft-lbs/ 0-60 5.1 secs. 06 GTO/weight 3,725 lbs/HP 400/Torque 400 ft-lbs/0-60 5.25 secs. Of course these ratings are factory and subject to debate. All close as the separation is 0.4 sec.

I own a Mustang GTCS and I KNOW it would rip the doors off a GM Lumina SS any day of the week. This video is a total fake.

the lumina is the same as a G8 not a GTO. Thats what I was thinking of doing. get a G8 with slight front end damage get a front, badges, and interior from a lumina SS and bolt it on!

hey black mustang...look at the words closely at the beginning of the video...hes saying the GTO is a 2004...the mustang is a 2007...and they are pretty evenly matched..i believe the 04 GTO, since its got the LS1 with less HP then the 05 and newer GTO, is a couple tenths of a second slower then the 05 and newer mustang GTs

My mistake and thanks for pointing it out. The 2004 GTO LS1 specs are as follows: weight3,725 lbs./350hp/torque 365 ft-lbs./0-60 5.5 secs/1/4 mile 14.0 secs. Still close at 0.4 secs. I think driver skill would decide the race making the person at the wheel of the Mustang incompetent.

I did a little research instead of just flapping gum. The stock specs look like this... per car specs listed on various sites (most all of the info is from Edmunds). 04 Mustang GT/Weight 3,347 lbs/HP 260/Torque 302 ft-lbs/0-60 5.5 secs. 07 Mustang GT/Weight 3,356 lbs/HP300/Torque 320ft-lbs/ 0-60 5.1 secs. 06 GTO/weight 3,725 lbs/HP 400/Torque 400 ft-lbs/0-60 5.25 secs. Of course these ratings are factory and subject to debate. All close as the separation is 0.4 sec.

I'm sorry...but there is no way possible that the Lumina SS would ever beat a Mustang GT. The Lumina is heavy, too much metal and no handling just like a typical GM product. The Mustang is light with high torque and above all quicker than a Lumina! Whomever was driving the Mustang was seriously holding back the hp's or the person just did not know how to drive a car. I own a Mustang GTCS and I KNOW it would rip the doors off a GM Lumina SS any day of the week. This video is a total fake.
