  • Jay Chou missed more than 15 notes in this piece, and this has made the whole piece to become drift and not enough strong in base part. But after all, Jay did a very good job for him as a non-professional pianist and playing duet with such marvelous musician--Yun Di.

    Bravo!

  • you are right, Jay missed quite a lot of notes, and it's not that hard!

  • whos that guy?

  • obvioulsy a guy. Great duelet Love this video. Thanks for uploading

  • is it that person next to jay chou a girl or guy?

  • It's Mozart's Piano Sonata in A. The 3rd movement, commonly known as "Alla Turca" confusingly known as "The Turkish March". Beethoven has a piece which is called The Turkish March. This piece is known as turkish march only becos Mozart said it should be played in the style of a turkish march... it wasn't meant as a title, but nevertheless it is widely and confusingly known as Turkish March, for the convenience of the lazy and ignorant...

  • Anyone know what's this song they're playing? Been trying to get the name. It sounds damn familar.

  • not your idot? think you are an idiot.

  • and believe me, bass is VERY impt. dont underestimate bass. if you dont know music, dont talk and comment abt music. if you dont know that there's a degree to everyone's talents and in this case, the difference between jay and yundi, then i guess the more you shdnt try to judge and post a absurd comment.

btw, this is a long long ago performance vid

  • come on people! there's so many people in the world that plays the piano, how can you guys just anyhow compare!yundi's an amazing pianist, and jay chou is a talented composer. you cant just take a super pro&talented pianist and compare with jay. there's a degree to everyone's talents even if they're named talented! jay's a great composer, and when he plays piano, he emits a charm.

  • lol pass898 u said jay is bad mean u v gd in playin piano? and pokhapokha is such a bhb lol jay like u =.=" dun make me puke

  • anyway.even if there's no bass, the melody would still sound nice XD.haha no offence to whoever post that comment previously

  • lol...Yundi Li was the best in the chopin compeitition in 2001 i think if i ain't wrong so of course he's a better pianist.imagine -.-.sitting beside a champion when u aint as good is sort of quite pressurizing.haha.It's true that Yundi Li's doibng most of the work.and the front part is the original version when it starts to get complicating its voldoo's version of turkish march, its was to rearranged so that it sounds more 'interesting' n harder i s'pose.lolx

  • Jay Chou is very very bad...penoso

  • hanaya did u c it?

  • okay nvm about the 'it doesnt needs two players' part...this is probably some duet version haha

  • oooh my cousin played this for her piano recital...shes so amazin X__x haha i dont think this song needs two players...they did really good though but its funny seeing two guys sharing the same chair and piano haha

  • The other guy named DIck Lee

  • Jay's good... but come on. It's Yundi! He's only the youngest piano player who won that Chopin Piano Competition. Now that's hot!

  • O.O I can see Jay chou is itching to move his right hand LOL...

Yundi Li is awesome...he looks so relax and cool..

    Great...great...greatttt...both of them

  • wow he was using his left hand lols

  • sure.. and thats y we dont hear so much about ur japanese singers? o btw being racist aginst chinese will get u killed if u are a supporter of japan. A research shows as a nation 96%+ of the chinese population is in support of eliminating Japan with an other atomic bomb. Just goto china town yell out wat u said here, and Ill bet 10kUS that you will be sold as BBQ the next day. And if you are a Jap, Im sure all the chinese pass by will want a piece of you for their dogs.

  • okay, here's what i think:

jay is a good pianist, a talented pianist.

but there can be no denial that li yundi is better than jay at piano... li yundi's a prodigy.

nevertheless, this piece in the first place was not challenging chopin or rachmaninoff material.

but to please all of you guys... jay's a great pianist, but li yundi is professional... so what can you say?

i think that should please everyone... except for that racist bastard jpnjpnjpn. don't mind him, everyone. =P

  • hahas, yay! someone who agrees with me! ^-^

  • 杰伦~嘿嘿,我来支持你了~

  • erm... jpnjpnjpn thats abit racist =P not really but how can you guys tell he made a mistake?

  • wow Jay Chou and Yundi Li! This was great!

  • Jay Chou is definitely a pianist. He might've made a few mistakes here or there, but he still needed some talent to play a difficult piece like that. Turkish March was writtin by Mozart... and it tests your agility, and light hands, which is pretty hard to acquire.

A pianist can only be called a pianist when they have proven their worthiness and their talent... and I'm pretty sure Jay has done that.

  • It's true that Yundi Li is doing more work than Jay 'cause often in duets, the secondo (meaning the bottom part) is much easier to play then the primo (meaning the top part). It's quite obvious that Yundi is using more of his technical skills than Jay. All Jay's doing is sustaining the bass, and playing the harmony, while Yundi has to play all the ornaments. I was also suprised when Jay made a few mistakes, lol.

  • Yeah that's mostly the case. When I played Secondo in The Poet and the Peasant Overture the secondo is much much easier than the primo. lol the mistakes in the beginning were quite obvious, but the ones in the end were generally impervious to the general audience. my friend says Li YunDi is a better pianist, but jay's good too, and his singing, composing and writing skills accomodates for that ^^

  • Actually... Jay Chou is only popular because he's apparantly got the "package"... as in songwriting skills, singing skills, piano playing skills, and to some... his looks apply to as well 8-).

  • Some of you guys just completely miss the point. These guys are playing one part each -- in sync! I doubt any of you have done that. And I doubt any of you have ever been paid to play -- especially not at the grand salary scale that Jay Chou is on. So you're wrong, people, Jay Chou IS a pianist. He just happens to not be as good as Yundi Li. To be more precise, Jay Chou is a musician, and a damn good one at that. He's not just some guy trying to play the piano on YouTube.

  • If pianist means anybody plays piano, Jay Chou is definitely the one. He is a good musician, but the reason why he was paid much to play piano is his popularity. There are many pianists much better than him are not paid to play. Please never look down piano skill.

  • Never imagine Turkist March can be played like this. The original pieces is really easy but Yundi Li adds many ornament in this and make it totally different. Jay is not a pianist, so I dun expect much on him. And the fact also shows that he only played the chords by two hands with few wrong notes. I appreciate his composition, but none on piano skills.

  • this songs not hard to play..i did it solo~ and..its easy. but jays still ho Q x]

  • with wendy lee XDDD joking..

His name is lee wan dic or something like that right?

  • they r goan get artheritis on their fingers haha

  • don't ya now evrybody?? look ad the news.. jay now is gay..coz he wants to be like his favourite singers.. >.< i'm not joking >.<

  • whoa... he's seriously gay? where did you hear that from?

  • for some reason, the guy playing to higher part looked like a girl to me...

  • no matter what, yundi definetly is better because hes a pianist.. he can easily pwn jay chou in piano..

  • you guys dont get it!!! jays a nice guy like me, so he dont wanna outshine this other guy at his own game, coz he dont need to hes a popular singer

  • Encore!!!! Love how Jay Chou & Yundi Li collaborate with their pianist skills. Talented musicians & singers in the music industry and he's also a great actor in Initial-D. =)You RoCk!!!!

  • YAA WHOEVER SAID IT'S ALL YUNDI'S WORK THEN YOUR A RETARD woooot jay

  • PLEASE LAH. it's obvious jay is also playing a lot lor. it's just that he's playing the lower notes, and that yundi person is playing the melody. if there isnt jay's notes, it'll sound awful. it's obvious that BOTH of them got talent can

  • Whoever said that Yundi is doing all the work is TOTALLY CORRECT!!! LMAO!!!

  • holy crap.

  • piano ouuu .. *amazed by such talent* I can play thatttttt !! (no i cant) lol .. cool vid .. expecially since it has jay chou ..

  • Sorry to say this, but the above people were wrong. My parents got a DVD in China that had this on it, so I know what it is. ;] Jay Chou and Yundi Li are playing Turkish March by Mozart. And no, Yundi Li is not a singer but an AMAZING pianist. I don't remember, but he's either better than Lang Lang or second to him. Anyhow, I hope that helps! [oh yeah, I just heard Jay Chou mess up. LOL. he's still hot. XD]

  • that's hot. They're so cute, like they're so used to what they were doing haha

  • i'm sure if u knew wot 2 play wif each hand on its own...it's quite easy!!! credits both go to both players...whether the right was harder or the left...takes 2 to tango!

  • *speechless* I remember playing that song in 4th or 5th grade and I found it boring after a while. That was such a cool rendition!! ^^ i lOVE IT!!!!!!

    ~mich

  • thats coolllll

  • its sexy to see jay so talented. i think it's hot tat guys know how to play piano

  • WOW! how old was Yundi in this? if anyone knows, could you plz reply to this comment by clicking "reply to this" so i can find out? thnx! and thats so hard to do! they are both amazing musicians!

  • no idea... but it doesn't matter how old he is...

he could probably play better than any person who has watched this video by the time he was 16

  • I'm pretty sure Yundi is 24 now.

  • wow...fantastic!!!!

  • was....they are damn good!

  • The other guy is Lang Lang, the famous pianist/child prodigy, etc.

  • actually, sorry, was wrong. -__-;;

  • yundi's doing all the work!

  • yundi li is an amazing pianist

its fun to see him playing with jay! this was awesome

  • That was soo COOL! Wish i knEW HOW TO PLAY THE PIANO LIKE THAT!

  • wierd thing to notice, but jay chou's parting is on the oppostie side to in the film 'Initial D'

  • classic jay on the piano ;]

  • pianist, yundi li
