  • this is a wonderful song a video --love to share songs about Nature!--Great Video!

  • Wonderful Song!

  • Uhg... Paul and John didn't write this song... it was Harry Nilsson, and his version can't be topped!

  • @beyondthevoyage let's do the math. Nilsson's version-released in 1969. Beatles version- released in 1968. That wouldn't stop it being a cover by the Beatles, as with I Wanna Be Your Man earlier, except for the key fact that it was definitely written by Paul McCartney in Rishikesh.

  • @rwos14 to be an decent person, ur completely right. did my research and ur right, paul did write the song, but i still believe the nilsson version can't be topped...

  • @beyondthevoyage wow are you serious, it was written by Paul a year and a half before nilssons cover you fool

  • This video is just awesome!..I am going to post it on my FB group page..

"Favorite Songs and Lyrics in~Memory of Eddie Barber"

    Thank you!

  • This is such a John Denver type song - amazing to think it was written by two other music icons - Lennon & McCartney.

  • @wallyj471 Macca wrote it in India. John wrote ' Child of Nature', which became 'Jealous Guy'

  • I absolutely love this <3

  • This song's lyrics is as if it was written for him! Well done John and Paul! (This John, not John Lennon, although he is just as important.)

  • this is just as good as the beatle's version. no more no less. all equal.

  • It's the very same sentiment held by two wonderful people, irrregardless John's original AND true to the spirit ensemble interpretation. I can imagine the rights and royalties agreement being sealed with a phone call, amenable to all.

  • 48 likes 0 dislikes that is a showing of the quality of this cover. no one can honestly dislike it. R.I.P John.

  • John Denver. a case study on the phrase, "if you're gonna do something, be the best at it."

  • love this cover, better then the beatles version lol ;p Love John Denver!

  • Awesome video.... I love this song, all of John Denver's songs really! Thank-you for sharing!

  • I met Mr. Denver once, in person. I thanked him for sharing his God given talent with all of us and for making a difference in my life with the songs he sang. Every time I fly over Aspen and look down from the cockpit, I feel like I can share all of the emotions he created in his songs when I look at all of the open spaces up in the Rockies. Thanks for making growing up with you something special.

  • what is the deal about musicians and small, easy to crash airplanes??? Law of averages says DON"T GET IN 'EM!! Odds of destruction increase with the number of singers inside.

  • That's the point of a cover, to make it different. What's the point of producing a carbon copy of the original?

  • I agree with your sentiment entirely, but it should be possible to do it differently, while remaining faithful to the original spirit. This song was written in Rishikesh and was one of two songs of a meditative nature considered for the White Album, the other being Lennon's 'Child of Nature', later rerecorded as 'Jealous Guy'.

  • @mad27 to hear john denver's great vibratoo!

  • @mad27 There's a fine line between making a tasteful cover that is different and making a distasteful cover that is different. I found this very tasteful. Jack White's version on the other hand is just god-awful

  • Hate to break it to you but John made this his song

A Song's Best Friend and Mother Nature's Son, John Denver

  • @broomybank I think it is much better as a country song

  • Great job! Thanks! The music and images John left behind still have the power to get us all "on track" and tuned in to what's important. His legacy is one that urges us to carry on the messages of peace, love for Mother Earth, and love for one another. PEACE!

  • Very appropriate.

I grew up on John Denver's music and it really pulls at the heartstrings.

  • Well, I think John was an amazing singer. If you ask me, he was able to hit those high notes so beautifully because he had the GOD GIVEN GIFT TO SING! Sheesh.

  • This song could have been written for him. He was Mother Nature's son if anyone was.

  • Thanks for this song, John left us far too soon

  • Gorgeous! Very well done!

    Sing, Henry.

  • Sounds like the piece from "An Evening With John Denver" album. Great all around, and thanks for posting it and those memorable

    pics!

  • I heard him do this in Concert. It was his opening number. He held that last note on 'Son'

about 4 seconds or so. Brilliant. He really loved singing it. Really got the crowd going.

  • Was this Guy Great or What ??? God Bless you John .. "Always" :) LM

  • godwhyisthistaken (nice name by the way haha) i completely agree with you; i love what john did to this song, as well as the other live performance in the first related video! it's such a shame he was taken so suddenly from us. rest in peace<3 what talent
