@GrooveMastaDreP I have the tape, of The Hits compilation that highlighted the B-sides, in the casette cover it gives a brief anthology of Prince's music that discussed this.
What a nice version. Sung from the heart and the music is nasty.
Alot of soul and feel. Not too many prince songs get done right. This one has a 70's ballad feel that goes right with the lyrics. Thanks for the post.
Thought this was going to be a thrash metal version because of the name of the group lol big mistake on my part. What it is instead is a beautiful passionate cover of a song written by Prince. Pure silky excellence
@malcybabes this isn't a cover. its actually from an aborted 1979 album featuring prince and his band under the the pseudonym the rebels. the chick singing was his keyboard player. I'm pretty sure prince is playing piano on this one, sounds like his style.
@briney1973 cheers for that. I originally heard an early version with Prince singing on a bootleg album called The Jewel Box which was 3 cds of outtakes etc from the 80`s. That version of this song sounds more like the Mica Paris version, another rare song i heard that sounds so sleezy is one called Wonderful Ass lol
@malcybabes the version u have is the guide vocal version given to mica paris. yes wonderful ass is 1 of his best unreleased songs. it has that great 85 era drum sound. i have a box set called the work which has all his unreleased studio stuff up until the early 2000's. but the best is the 80's stuff. the 1999 outtakes are awesome not to mention the dream factory/crystal ball outtakes. Too bad they will never see an official release.
LOVE ALL VERSIONS OF THIS SONG

Ahhh Ms. Gayle Chapman....an underrated member of the rebels. Unfortunately, she was replaced by Lisa Coleman (of Wendy & Lisa).

@GrooveMastaDreP Gayle wasn't replaced she left after Prince wrote "Head" and she didn't want to sing those lyrics.
