And to me, being reckless to that degree whatever the mitigations, defines being a killer meriting conviction, and destroys any charity & environment caring brownie poins claimed by his friends and family. He was a drunken yob that cost a hardworking man his life, and his family a father and brother in a society that provides negligible welfare...and now he is still not man enough to own up and apologise despite the proven evidence against him.
@Raymondo1303 you clearly reign as a self professing judge based on your continued erroneous assumptions like all Km's body positions are clearly in keeping with your account of events. Bozo, get a grip on the fact that 1. you dont really know 2. had no reason to flee the accident in the 1st place 3. His concussion I think exceeded his drunkenness and I dont believe all three events have not been addressed properly. ie car still running, WHY?, what really happened with the driver etc ie shhhhh
@colonius12321 I don't really KNOW as in I wasn't there, correct. But, based on my knowledge of the controls in Hong Kong taxis, and applying common sense based on KM's build & the press reports from the public trial, I form the opinions I have. Equally, you don't know either, you don't even know the layout of the HK taxi controls! Like I said, I think reason was way beyond KM due to his drunken state. What happened with taxi driver was verified from witness testimony and autopsy.
@Raymondo1303 You just dont get it do you. But then again how can others clearly explain to you 100% biased halfwits that you 'dont know the facts.' I doubt you Bozos even own a damned car but worse still I doubt that KM got a fair trial when the comprehension of many chinese is severely lacking. I am not questioning their integrity or morals but I know for a FACT that comprehension is severely lacking. How did this all start. Just what role did the taxi play. Also NO DNA of KM on Accelerator
@colonius12321 Sorry...Just what role did the taxi play. was meant to read ..Just what role did the taxi driver play. ...may I suggest that just maybe the Driver was in fact accosting or attempting to rob the drunken KM (who was born in HK) and was thwarted in the doings and became a victim of his own consequences...a far more likely scenario considering KM was ALWAYS in the passenger seat. Get the facts Raymondo you severely lack FACTS. Your fiction is great.
@colonius12321 Ok, great allegations but the defence offered nothing like that as fact in court, maybe because its a load of BS. And KM was always in the passenger seat? Not according to two other eyewitnesses. The taxi was parked at the side of the road when the dispute between KM and the taxi driver was witnessed. The taxi drove off to the right at speed with the taxi driver dragged on the outside right by the driver side seat belt and then crushed by the central concrete divider and rails
@colonius12321 Like the judge said in sentencing, denying responsibility and apportioning blame to the taxi driver is "distasteful"! And so are all those who believe in this yob's innocence, insulting the deceased's family even further.
@Raymondo1303 then let them be insulted. Maybe the if the dead could talk we would finally hear the truth why he was out of the car. Shameless understandings by you.
@colonius12321 It appears you don't want to know the truth suggested by the court evidence (witness testimony & forensics) presented and cross examined by the very expensive defence lawyers assembled by Mudd Sr. KM killed a honest hardworking man through his stupidity, that is what the court evidence indicated and he was sent down very leniently. And people like you who support KM blindly deserve equal contempt from anyone with an ounce of decency. You ramble and give baseless conspiracies.
@colonius12321 Well this halfwit is a highly qualified forensic accountant and I own a Mercedes C200 and I grew up in the UK. So much for your statement about comprehension! The reports from the court clearly set out what happened from the various witness testimony and verified by cross examination and forensic evidence. And give the fact that KM was wearing shoes, how would his DNA be on the gas? Really dumb point!
@Raymondo1303 WOW a Fullwit thats a nitwit in his summations. Hey Mr Forensic genius just why are you so interested in backing the Taxi drive and condemming KM?. What your real motive? Now tell the truth now. Also, is my E200 larger or smaller than your C200? who cares, so u can drive/steer you car. DNA or forensic examination of the brake pedal showed no connection with KM & that was done by the HK police. Not dumb point but the dimwits forgot the gearknob. Just plain sloppy forensic work..
@colonius12321 I'm not backing a person. An honest working man died and I want to see justice served on the killer. It's called human decency. Nothing more, nothing less. Your rambling again, unless you have access to the forensics report. The evidence procedures in HK are very comprehensive and are of comparable standards to the UK. Once again, you have demonstrated full ignorance of Hong Kong, just like you did when you thought thereb was a central console in HK taxis.
@Raymondo1303 Gotta go. None are so blind as those that will not see. Whoever you really are I appreciated your depth of zeal and your POV BUT it seems we will not change our spots and stripes so we will see what happens in round two. As I said, the fat lady aint sung yet and whilst I am not really wishing you all the best in life I do hope you get a decent job one day. Bye forever.
@colonius12321 Maybe you should open your own mind to your own advice. My job requires me to be neutral and be swayed only by evidence. Round 2? Be careful what you wish for, he was given a very light sentence which only increases on appeal.
Moot anyway, he was convicted on the evidence relating to the incident that cost the taxi driver's life, where he assumed control of the taxi after arguing with the taxi driver, & 2 witnesses testified that the taxi driver was outside the vehicle on the right hand side, the taxi accelerated to the right towards the central concrete divider and railings, but the taxi driver was caught by the drivers seat belt, so his body was dragged and crushed at speed against the central concrete & railing
lets try again. at 0.56 on 外籍乘客懷疑因為醉酒瘋狂駕駛撞的士 video is where the concussed and bleeding Mr Mudd allegedly pulled away from the accident scene whilst sitting in the passenger seat..yes you all agree, BUT tell me how he gets his foot over the centre consul and on the pedal to rev it up unless his foot is about 30-60cm longer than his real foot. It was truly a physical impossibility for him to have moved that car by himself whilst in that seated position. Gaining control after that is reactions.
@colonius12321 You just demonstrated your ignorance of HK taxi's ..there is no central consul, its just one long seat across the front. HK taxis are semi-auto transmission, which means you only need to put the car in gear to get it moving, and the gear is on the left hand side of the steering column, so it is likely he wasn't reaching for the gas, but the brake to put the taxi in gear, then only applied gas after the taxi started driving away..
@Raymondo1303 You are obviously right about no centre consul but the story gets worse for Mr Mudds persecutors when the viewing of the video seems to indicate the car moving immediately BEFORE Mr Mudd obviously lunged for the steering wheel. Again I ask people who have objective thinking brains...what the heck was he trying to escape from? Again Raymondo that young man was NOT under arrest and had no need to flee the accident in a damaged taxi, driving from the passenger seat. Ur unbelievable.
@colonius12321 Hello!!! semi-auto transmission, moves when in gear, no gas required, just need to put the thing in gear which you can do by stepping on the big brake pedal in the middle of the foot controls. I think we have established that reason and sensibility was missing from KM at the time, in fact, KM has conveniently admitted he has no recollection of the events. The only unbelievable thing is people blindly think he is innocent when he has gone thru due process and found guilty
@Raymondo1303 NO car moves forward when you put it into gear and then step on the BIG BRAKE PEDAL. Duh. Maybe the reverse you donkey but that still doesnt answer who put it into gear. Certainly wasn't KM as the video clearly indicates or do you clowns expect the world to believe that he had his foot on the brake, pulled it into gear and then accelerated...all as a passenger and with zero body movement towards the gear lever on the column. ur deductive prowness is severely lacking sonny.
@colonius12321 For semi auto and full transmission, you have to step on the brake to put the car into gear, then once in gear if you release the brake the vehicle will move. If you take into account that the handbrake release is positioned in the centre of the dashboard and that the gear lever on HK taxis are positioned where the indicators are on most cars, i.e. on the LEFT next to the steering column, then the body position is consistent with the footage.
Dear CyberneticOrganism01 on "外籍乘客懷疑因為醉酒瘋狂駕駛撞的士" YOU can't decipher this part of my sentence: "...and that an already-idling car moved away... with him trying to gain control." because your English comprehension is inadequate as is your discernment and full knowledge of the circumstances relative to those two incidents. Go have a coffee and consult an English major.
Ok, let's talk about FACTS. In case you haven't read the paper, Kelsey Mudd has been convicted and was sentenced to jail already. Talking about facts, there were eye witnessES that saw him fighting control with the taxi driver, DROVE away the taxi while the taxi driver was still trapped in the seatbelt and was dragged and crushed to death eventually. Talk about facts, we've got this footage, we've got paramedics and policemen who were on the scene testifying that Mudd DROVE away the taxi.
im sure this info has been posted on this thread previously. anyone in their right mind should see the bogan is in no way innocent. yet user @colonius12321 remains in disbelief and calls for common sense? i suggest he stop spamming. he's way too old for that.
@matskc I've read and heard the facts. So called facts from sensational reporting are not establish facts. You people are indiscriminately converting fantasy into fact and not one of you were there, dont know what was 'on the spot' fact and remain smugly as armchair judges and executioners. Next I suppose you will all be telling me that in the chinese movies, when people fly from tree to tree or hang upside down from ceilings that all that is real too. This was a miscarriage of Justice.
And before you reply me, please hold yourself from going ape shit. Its really uncomfortable seeing a 56 year old man losing control of himself like that.
@andreworhk Andre, andre, andre your level of sarcasm is so infantile as is your friends here. Little losers like you really do need to know the facts and not embellish hearsay and disputed evidence, which you all have little knowledge of. Again I say for you ignorant little people that Mr Mudd was indeed a passenger, in the passengers seat and his attempts to drive away whilst concussed and bleeding was for what purpose? was he under arrest, no. Spare me any more rhetoric and Andre grow up.
This guy, and his father, are shameless!! Not only is he not admitting he's caused the accident, he blamed the taxi driver for letting him into the taxi!! Now who's responsibility is that? Doesn't he need to be responsible for how much he drinks? Must all taxi drivers screen their passengers? And everyone can see from the footage that HE HAS HIS HANDS on the wheels, and the taxi wasn't going up hill idle, someone was in control! HE was in the driver's seat when the police finally stopped him!!
@matskc excuse me moron...as a passenger and not the perpetrator of the initial accident what was the kid trying to flee from???? U half cocked armchair accusers are humourously pathetic. u go have another beer. You have to be drunk and blind , Bye bye sweetheart.
@matskc yes Mr Mudd should be responsible for his drinking and getting drink but why do you idiots get off on your misinformation and armchair legal judgements never taking into consideration he was the passenger that didnt cause the first accident, had no reason to flee and that an already idling car moved away from the 'crime scene' with him trying (in his intoxicated state) to gain control. Your careless comments are those of an assumptive fool. Get ur IQ remeasured. Ur lacking 20 points
I can't decipher this part of your sentence: "...and that an already-idling car moved away... with him trying to gain control." What are you trying to say?
I'm trying to get some info out of these comments but your garbled English is not helping much. No offence intended, but please take some time to construct correct English sentences.
computer error..once again waku1975 the biggest part of your ill-informed carcass you inhabit, your mouth, has opened and spewed forth your biased and biggotted garbage that you try to generate. Even i deplore drunken behavior and the binge drinking culture (which DOES also exist in ur country...but to a much lessor extent) yet I despise more fools like you who still dont know the facts but have an mouth. Dickwit I am over 60..sadly I'm not in HK to talk face to face. flap ur jaws elsewhere boy.

There is a well-established binge-drinking culture in Australia, which creates persistent problems of alcohol-related violence. Well done bogan, you took away an innocent life, premeditated or not. Enjoy your extended holiday in Hong Kong, bubba will take care of you in prison.
@hyohom if all australians are alcoholics does that mean all people in Hk are racists. I'm not an alcoholic and in fact dont drink so with your generalisation dispensed with remember you clown that as a passenger he had no reason to so=called run form an accident he didnt cause. What do you people use for brains? It aint grey. go to classes on commonsense...you need some. bye bye
@colonius12321 take a chill mate, reread my original post. i didn't generalise australian's to be alcoholics. but i know for a fact drinking alcohol to excess is firmly established as a particular aspect of aussie culture. i have alcoholic friends here in sydney, and they're chinese.
@hyohom I would take a chill if like you didnt have mouths. Exercising common sense is something you certainly dont have so go go use your biased thinking on something more deserving and if you c
@hyohom I would take a chill if like you didnt have mouths. Exercising common sense is something you certainly dont have so go go use your biased thinking on something more deserving and if you cant find better topics than Bagging aussies and Mr Mudd tell me where you come from and I will help you with a few.
is that so Waku1976. you are simply a racist minor with a big mouth. My wife is chinese you clown and when biggotted whackos like you who feed on gossip and misinformation are suddenly allowed to speak the world gets a distorted view of what really happened. As the 'fat lady hasn't yet sung' I suggest you shut your trap and wait for the dust to settle before you open your rabid, rambling mouth again. The truth of the events was never understood by the jurors you halfwit. Go wash your mouth out
It is clear that the paramedics and authorities did a horrible job of securing the man in the red shirt. They should have given him immediate medical attention, rather than letting him sit in the vehicle which was STILL ON. I believe that the paramedics racially profiled the victims of this accident, and neglected to give proper attention to the one individual who did not look like the rest.
Give us all a break Waku1976.. You racist crank. An obviously injured Aussie Gui Lao irresponsibly left in a taxi, obviously sitting in the passenger seat, with obvious head injuries from a lousy HK taxi drivers prior errors is supposedly and unnecessarily trying to escapee from the scene by 'rolling away'? obviously trying to place his foot on the brake pedal of the taxi ! This a racially doctored anti gui lao video farce against a young foreigner by ever so biased HK police. Waku1976 grow up
@colonius12321 nice imagination aussie huh? white people like u are barbarian and now u guys are trying to make a fraudulent story to cover the nasty truth. Please find the court verdict online. What happened on that night is disclosed now. Justice is served.
Drunk driver sentenced to imprisonment for manslaughter Australian students
Last year, a 23-year-old Australian student taxi drunk driving force, leading to the taxi driver was killed, was sentenced today 4 years and 3 months.
@waku1976 Barbarians. I only eat Chinese food my Chinese wife prepares but with your Ph Degree on 'Blind justice' remember this sweetheart you are only trying to show your racist side and if the barbaric ways of your forefathers were still fermenting today you would be one the 'liberators' would eat. Even Mao would deride your foolish ramblings. Now rush for a dictionary to see what I wrote. bye bye lovee XO
@chocoleg you are a fool and a damned racist and devoid of commonsence and the full facts. Yes SOME Aussies do overdrink and yet they are in many cases 'imports' from o/seas and whilst that issue has nothing to do with this case, (unless you want me to relate you back to the murderous ways of your forefathers) let me remind your lower IQ level (than mine you fool) that you weren't there and dont know the facts so may I suggest that ushow some degree of intelligence by ramming a cake in ur mouth
@colonius12321 hey colonius, now that the story has been laid out in court i hope you have reconsidered some of the presumptions you stated. I want to add that this case should not be diluted by issues of race.
This idiot and his family are acting completely disgraceful as human beings, not only shifting blame, but the audacity to ask for donations on their website. This was a paragraph from the SCMP; Mudd ... showed no remorse, the judge said. “You sought to put blame on others,” he added.
@colonius12321 "Australians take it on the chin" but this idiot has acted like complete cowards. And i am sure thats the way he has been brought up, judging from the actions of their family. This was from the standard;
father -Michael Mudd, said: "I'm very disappointed with the outcome. We think there was enough confusion that night that nobody really knows what happened and that he was not given the benefit of the doubt."
Why are you such an angry old man. Instead of discussing the matter at hand you have resorted in dishing out personal and race, "Caucasian" vs "Oriental" haha why are you even bringing that up. We shouldn't even go on about "great persecution and murderous ways", China and Australia each had their
It seems the only thing I brought up was "Australians take it in the chin", frankly its something I admire in Aussies.
Lets agree that HK police failed to take precautions when they found Kelsey blood stained in the taxi. The court didn't give him man slaughter for the incident where he was caught on camera colliding into another taxi. He was charged with man slaughter for the two eye witness account where he was seen in the car as the taxi driver was being dragged to his death.
This is a top example of biased media reporting. A few simple points to raise - The driver is in the passenger seat of the damaged car which starts moving when the medic puts the car in gear. The passenger is also obviously concussed from the accident which could have only been caused by the taxi driver in control of the vehicle.
How come there was no Airbags used? Toyota Crown Taxis in Japan have them are Hongt Konmg taxis dumbed down? This seems to prove it as no airbags are seen anywhere here. Besides how come a passenger gets arrested when the car clearly runs away with him still in the passenger seat? Why was the engine still running, dont the cops know how to deal with an accident there?
we chinese should not be shy to those white people, they are pigs........should fuck this kind of white pig out of hk.........fucking disturbance to our peaceful city
@waku1976 ...you racist, misinformed, naive and immature little boy. Your foul mouth explains your low IQ. Come to Australia and shout your vial opinions about and see what happens. Over here men have balls and think about issues...you thoughtless and spineless creature dear boy have none even at age 34. still living with mummy and daddy too?
A video that is selectivley edited will not convict anyone, only a court will, this is an accident and as it is subject to a court case. This copyrighted video that has been illegally posted should be removed
so many crashes in hk for the past decades but i've never heard of a passengr driving away a taxi.
i don't think those medics and police would expect a drunk bleeding tourist to do something like that.
it's a culture thing that aussies are more likely to muck around and hk ppl are more reserved. hk police won't go violent towards anyone unless he is causing trouble, it's different here from the US.
by the way, there's only 1 traffic police in the vid, they dont have cuffs, only policemen do
i agree...shame on the police..as we speak now, these police are actually @ the police headqtr fighting for a 'more fair salary' for their 'hard work'.....seriously...........
hong kong police is a real shame,,, how could you possibly leave the car key in the taxi when theres a fucking drunk in the taxi??? and even after all the dramas, the drunk wasnt cuffed,, if he grabbed something in the ambulance and killed someone,,,the cops in this video should be fully responsible. shame
just like HK police rarely yelled at caucasians on j-walking and checking them IDs on the street, whereas...they often have prejudice on south asians and indians

Its really uncomfortable seeing a 56 year old man losing control of himself like that.
andreworhk 1 year ago

You have to be drunk and blind , Bye bye sweetheart.
colonius12321 1 year ago
@matskc yes Mr Mudd should be responsible for his drinking and getting drink but why do you idiots get off on your misinformation and armchair legal judgements never taking into consideration he was the passenger that didnt cause the first accident, had no reason to flee and that an already idling car moved away from the 'crime scene' with him trying (in his intoxicated state) to gain control. Your careless comments are those of an assumptive fool. Get ur IQ remeasured. Ur lacking 20 points

@colonius12321
I can't decipher this part of your sentence: "...and that an already-idling car moved away... with him trying to gain control." What are you trying to say?
I'm trying to get some info out of these comments but your garbled English is not helping much. No offence intended, but please take some time to construct correct English sentences.

It aint grey. go to classes on commonsense...you need some. bye bye
colonius12321 1 year ago
@colonius12321 take a chill mate, reread my original post. i didn't generalise australian's to be alcoholics. but i know for a fact drinking alcohol to excess is firmly established as a particular aspect of aussie culture. i have alcoholic friends here in sydney, and they're chinese.

is that so Waku1976. you are simply a racist minor with a big mouth.

@chocoleg you are a fool and a damned racist and devoid of commonsence and the full facts. Yes SOME Aussies do overdrink and yet they are in many cases 'imports' from o/seas and whilst that issue has nothing to do with this case, (unless you want me to relate you back to the murderous ways of your forefathers) let me remind your lower IQ level (than mine you fool) that you weren't there and dont know the facts so may I suggest that ushow some degree of intelligence by ramming a cake in ur mouth
colonius12321 1 year ago
@colonius12321 hey colonius, now that the story has been laid out in court i hope you have reconsidered some of the presumptions you stated. I want to add that this case should not be diluted by issues of race.
This idiot and his family are acting completely disgraceful as human beings, not only shifting blame, but the audacity to ask for donations on their website. This was a paragraph from the SCMP; Mudd ... showed no remorse, the judge said. “You sought to put blame on others,” he added.
andreworhk 1 year ago
@colonius12321 "Australians take it on the chin" but this idiot has acted like complete cowards. And i am sure thats the way he has been brought up, judging from the actions of their family. This was from the standard;
father -Michael Mudd, said: "I'm very disappointed with the outcome. We think there was enough confusion that night that nobody really knows what happened and that he was not given the benefit of the doubt."
andreworhk 1 year ago
@colonius12321
Why are you such an angry old man. Instead of discussing the matter at hand you have resorted in dishing out personal and race, "Caucasian" vs "Oriental" haha why are you even bringing that up. We shouldn't even go on about "great persecution and murderous ways", China and Australia each had their
andreworhk 1 year ago

Why was the engine still running, dont the cops know how to deal with an accident there?

so many crashes in hk for the past decades but i've never heard of a passengr driving away a taxi.
i don't think those medics and police would expect a drunk bleeding tourist to do something like that.
it's a culture thing that aussies are more likely to muck around and hk ppl are more reserved. hk police won't go violent towards anyone unless he is causing trouble, it's different here from the US.
by the way, there's only 1 traffic police in the vid, they dont have cuffs, only policemen do
