I've been trying to find this song for years. I heard it as a small child and didnt remember the name, only the tune and lyrics. it finally ends here. I found it after four years of searching.
That happened to me too. My father used to play this song all the time, and all I had was the tune. I finally found it many years later on a CD that was thought to be lost at our house. One of my favorite memories as a child by the fire place on a snowy winter night!

That happened to me too. My father used to play this song all the time, and all I had was the tune. I finally found it many years later on a CD that was thought to be lost at our house. One of my favorite memories as a child by the fire place on a snowy winter night!

Owain Glyn Dwr, the rebel King of Wales, invaded England from Wales in 1405. Got as far as Worcester, before having to turn back, but it looked like a serious challenge to the English rule at the time.
Perhaps the Scots launched a full scale invasion after his time? I'm not sure.

They have still clung to there native language. While i agree with 99% of your text i must say that even though i have never been i have meet welsh everywhere OZ Canada, USA asia and they are a great bunch. I don't think the Welsh see themselves as "no more than western English". Perhaps Elizabeth will live to see the opening of a Welsh parliament, and if not Elizabeth, then possibly Charles or William.

the scottish ARE British, as are english wales Erin go bragh is an irish chant. alba gu brath is the highland scots chant, but remember that lowland scots spoke ulster-scots,which is a langue that mixes scottish and english together.
the lowland scots and hoghland scots did more fighting in scotland than the english did, and the irish kingdons caused more bloodshed in ireland than the english.
all nations of the british isles have bloody history.all have marvalous history also.

My family is part irish, and i do have family members who have been both part of the IRA, and part of the british army ,so there is alot of contrast in my family.
most irish people are proud to be irish, and don't feel the need to hate the english, but some do, and they took that chant as their slogan.
if i have a daughter, i myself plan to name her Erin, after the land and language, not the racist chant.
