  • Only a clown would buy this vehicle... heck it is a clown car!!

  • Want one? Then buy one. For me, it's a death trap.

  • 1:02 LOL! It's just a ball.

  • lol at racing Smart cars :p prolly THE most dangerous cars to drive, next to the a class merc.

  • @mesothorium theyre not actually dangerous, u will notice on smartcars, the silver parts that run round the outside of the car, this is actually a very safe, safety cell

  • @jasa2345678910 yes but then again... why race a smart car?? why not fiat 500 abarth's or mini cooper s or even the old mini, there much more fun then this :)

  • @mesothorium

And most likely more safe;) than a smart car

  • All these negative comments are from Ignorant people! Go to safeandsmartdotcom for proof! Read the letters.

Broadside hit by an F150 going 45mph... the truck is totaled and the smart people only have bruises!

OR... driving on interstate, comes over a hill, stopped truck across the lane, she hits it head-on doing 65 mph and WALKS AWAY with just a busted wrist! Advanced safety features of the smart (designed by US engineers in California) saved their lives!

& the smart car is cheap to repair! :)

  • What a heap of shit cant stay on its wheels after a smash i could never buy such a small car fortwo after a smash is forone because one will die for shore. i have more space in my glovebox then the boot of these cars Lol .

  • these cars dont get around too well when there is a foot of snow on the roads, I drove past a stuck smarty in my Z-71....no i didnt have a chain at the time :)

  • @dmb3428

That's more about relative driving skills than the car. There are many Smart cars in states like Colorado and the owners report excellent handling in snow compared to most other vehicles. The only downside is that it's not that great in deep snow.

  • lol i cant believe he said "not again" after he rolled his car!! 0:22

  • I hav one brabus smart coupe. Goes like hell but quite bumpy though~

  • Last time I drove one of these shitboxes, I never felt so vulnerable in my life, They go like hell, but they are just too scarey...

  • Dear friend, I think my vocabulary perfectly describes what a nasty little car this is.

In this case, I simply speak as I find, and no ammount of anyone quoting statistics in robot fashion will convince me that this is a good car.

  • @smiffy1071

I guess you really mean no amount of FACTS

will convince you! Don't care. I'll be happy and safe in my smart fortwo, laughing at all the idiots in their gas guzzlers this summer when gas is $3.50!!!!!

  • I wish it was that cheap! Here in England, Petrol or Gasoline costs £1.15 per litre, which at the current exchange rate is $6.58 per US gallon. Now if you guys had to pay that much for fuel, I'm sure there would be no V8 cars left on the road! I drive a 20 year old Citroen, with a 1.7 turbo Diesel engine, which gives me 55 miles per IMPERIAL gallon, and great comfort! I know many people are prejudiced about the smart car without having driven one. I have, I just didn't like it is all.

  • @ragnapebble LOL! ECO WackO! Happy perhaps, but what does this car do against something larger than a civic? I'm sure it does well against small objects, but my F 250 would destroy that piece of shit. Besides, it's not cool to drive something like the stupid car or a POS prius! You get what, maybe between 45 to 55 in both cars? If you people were as smart as you say you are, you would drive something that is cool to look at, gets great mileage and would hold up in a crash like a Jetta TDI! FOOLS

  • @darthpizzo

You're still missing some of the main reasons why someone buys a Smart car...

1- They don't just talk about being an environmentalist, they buy the smallest car that has a minimal effect on global warming, pollution etc.

2- It makes an extreme "in-your-face" statement to all those idiots driving 2 ton gas guzzling behemoths to work every day!

Plus a Jetta TDI is $5K-$10K more than a Smart car, which buys lots of gas!

  • "not again!" LOL!

  • What videogame (1:21) ?

  • who the fuck puts gauges in a smart 00:18

  • mercedes. they come with them from the factory

  • i would like to see a head on crash test with a smart car and a fully loaded 5 ton truck, lets see how safe these cars really are, instead of crashing them into a 5 star safety rated mercedes that is made to crumple

  • poor attempt at making a unique little deathtrap look safer than reality

  • In most serious accidents, smart drivers walk away with minor injuries. Even when they have faced larger vehicles such as SUV. go to the smartusa website and read the testimonials.

  • smart is 1o the safest cars on the road. did people notice that in every accident shown here the other car came of worst. with the driver of the smart and passenger untouched apart from the body work coming off which thats 1 of the safety aspects of the smart. removable body panels.

  • "not again!" just topped it off.

  • smarts are safe but you will never convince ignorant people of that.

  • Bull shit, are u stupid?

  • @ducatinova Ignorant? It's simple physics. F=ma, meaning force equals mass times acceleration. Newton's 2nd law. A smart weighs 730 kg. Pit that against a regular car that would weigh maybe 1400 kg. In a head on crash, the regular weight car would cause nearly twice the force on the smart than the smart does on the other car. Differences in mass and acceleration play a huge role in safety. That's a no brainer.

  • all it is, is a coffin on wheels. I hate the smart car and I feel bad for anyone who has to go through a devistating crash in one

  • maybe you should read what people who HAVE gone through serious accidents in a smart have to say. visit the smartusa website and click on the link in the safety tab called safeandsmart. I hope you realize that this microcar is better engineered to handle accidents than cars twice and three times its size.

  • I have three vehicles. two of which are trucks. one is a 69 chevy c10 and the other a 65 chevy c20. I have been in accidents in both, one of which the other car was going at least 30. his car accordianed and my truck was able to drive away with only a large dent. His car couldn't drive away. I think that's pretty damn safe, and also, they're completely made out of steel. No fiberglass, no carbonfiber, no plastic.

  • @candle2k

Read about the F150 doing 45mph when it T-boned a smart fortwo.

The truck accordioned against the smart's

roll cage! proof is Ginny's letter to Smart at

    safeandsmart dotcom.

  • @ragnapebble I drive a 1965 Chevy truck. It will not accordion when something hits it. It's full steel and does not have ''crumple zones'' like the new cars have. I also have a 1969 Chevy truck that was t-boned by an 80's Cadillac and the Cadillac accordioned and I was left with a moderate dent and I drove away perfectly fine. If I was hit by a smart car I would drive away too and the smart car would probably be destroyed.

  • if the car crumbling into a million pieces dont kill you??? The flipping around like a ffish outta water and rolling around will !!!! WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT !!! Insurance co's were worried about muscle cars from the 1960's to 1970's killing people? or getting hurt while driving!!! Let me tell you I feel safer in a 1960's to 1980's even!! drive one of these and get stuffed by an 18 wheeler YOU WILL BE D.O.A !! with a little shovel to clean your body parts up !!

  • out of the factory a 1960s or even a 1980s muscle car did not have an intigrated roll cage, side impact beams, front or side airbags or ABS or stability controls. Smash an 18 wheelier head on into any of them and the occupants would be just as dead as you say would happen to a smart driver. How fast you forget the history of automobiles and why they are built the way they are today.

  • I'am a certified Wrecker operator with over 25 years of experience and seen every kind of motor vehicle accident there is PAL!! These cars are GARBAGE WITH A CAPITAL "G" !! It looks like the intergrated roll cage didnt do shit for this car! NOR did the side impact beams!!! OR even the air bags!! !!! I wrecked a 1980 Chevy Chevette that took a hard hit by a 1977 Olds Delta 88 and that Chevette was driveable!! and the olds was too!! So you have you NOT SO SMARTFOUR2!!

  • Were YOU on site for that accident? Do you know at that accident what the results were to the occupants of the vehicle? You seem to imply that knowing how to facilitate the services of a wrecker, somehow qualifies you as a mechanical engineer or something. What specifically gives you the authority to justify the safety of one vehicle to another? My question to you mr certified wrecker operator, do you only defend American made cars because they have an American badge or do you only .....

  • ... argue this car because you do not understand that size is not always a factor in safety?

  • looking at this made me think that is safer to drink and drive in other cars .. than driving a Smart sober ... if i Had a Smart .. I would order a custom Emblem in the back NOT SO Smart :D

  • what game is that?

  • l'inizio

    smart fortwo vs smart roadster

  • Meh, "RESPECT the speed limits"

Utter poo, every single statistic that you see about speed being the main contributor to accidents are fabricated. People need to learn how to drive correctly as people not paying attention is the main problem.

(BTW, when I say people need to learn to drive that means they need to learn how to use a clutch not a nancy boy push/pull gearshift like the one on the (not very)smart)

  • Matt, first off you need to learn to seperate your manhood from driving a car. The days of the human having to process the clutch action are soon to be gone. Yes I do know how to drive a standard tranny, I've owned classics and drove a truck / large commercial, which required double clutching... so lets get our heads out of our rear. Most modern sports cars are giving way to twin computer controlled clutches and either paddle shift or gear shifts on the console that the driver tips ...

  • ... to shift. High speed driving is a skill, that I will not disagree with. However the fact, yes fact that a driver is more likey to suffer worse injury or death is due to the forces encountered at those speeds. You should always pay more attention when you are about to plow into a guard rail at 90. Then you will know how much it hurts.

  • Dude, grow up and buy a proper car.

  • I'm grown and I did. You don't have to like my choice. To be honest don't understand why you even give a shit. Or is it because you think your opinion is just so valuable. NOT.

  • Tetchy or what

  • Tetchy,... good use of your thesaurus. Not really though. More like perturbed. People who don't truly know what they are talking about are irksome when they spew nonsensical dogmatic repartee. My mother was a wonderful inspiration in life. I remember one of her teachings. Finding it impossible to extol comments of inspirational consideration, one is best to retain their thoughts in silence.

  • What is the name of that videogame? it looks like fun.

  • Only someone wanting attention (or who has a death wish) could possibly want one of these things. Well, maybe some ignorant hippie too.

  • IT'S A LUNCHBOX!!

  • Und play wif der lifengesein! JA

  • LOL "not again" OMG EPIC FAIL!

  • on 0:38,is that suppossed to be AE86 which racing against the smart car,

    listen to the engine sounds

  • To CLA82529: That's in Portugal, That's the "Smart Diablo" the same that it's faster from standing start than a f360, it had a gsxr 1000 engine in the passenger seat. now it has an highly tuned NA Hayabusa

  • no,thats not what i meant,i mean listen to the second engine sounds,,not the samrt diablo sounds, bcoz the second engine sounds similiar to the AE86 engine sounds ,then after that you can see a car with panda paint job : the AE86

  • Intelligent driving is the key to safety, most of these accidents are because of stupid stuff people do.

There are no impeccable cars in the world.

  • exactly!

  • The car is a death trap..

  • I think you'll find it as safe as most cars and safer then some. Facts first please!

  • b0bcrown visit the smartusa web site, under the safety tab go to the link safeandsmart. You can read and see what smart owners have to say about how their smart car performed in an accident. I think you will see differently than you do.

  • did that dude on 0:27 said NOT AGAIN ?

  • Yeh ! LOL ... Not again ! :D

  • yes he did. there is a vid out showing more. He wrecked another smart in a similar way.

  • What a piece of sh*t. Who would want a smart car? The thing is unsafe..hell, the old VW Beetles are safer than these cars.

  • spoken like a true american!! WHAT A PIECE OOOOOOOOO SHIT!!!

  • Did we forget about the Amazing Pinto? The Vega? The Corvair? How about the years of production by Ford of cars and trucks that spontaniously caught fire ... Oh wait, then there was a problem with those Big Ford Pick ups and SUV's that seemed to flip and toss everyone on to the road. Tired of the babble. No car is perfect. Why dont you invest your energy in the failed American Auto Industry. I'm sure you have some pointers on how they can do it better.

  • @smartcarfor2 the failed Auto market in America is due to the New world Order i suggest you learn how the world really works before writing lame reasons like this grow up and get a real car not a over size quad bike with a roof and windows.

  • Seriously? the "New World Order"? I know you must be joking. You must be so frail.

  • Jeffsond, you truly intend on being heard regardless of what you sound like.

  • Boy, for someone who jumps on everyone who has a comment, you look like the A%#. Im sure you look real neat in that Smart Car.

  • good video.

  • haha the guy tipping his smart and saying " ohhh not again lmao

  • smart cars arent so safe, it may not break apart easely but it can flip over easely and the shock inside the car can do alot of damage, imagine driving a smart car across a bridge and some guy bumps into you and the smart car flys off of the bridge...

  • Smart caar is certainly "safe enough" That big car they crashed it into is an S Class Benz that weighs almost 5000 lbs compared to the Smarts 1800lbs. It did pretty good. The real question is why buy a Smart for $15K when you can buy a Corolla, Elantra, etc for the same money and get nearly the same milage. I think they should have brought the diesel version to the USA... 60MPG would make me consider the car much more. I have driven a Smart and I do like the car.. just not enough to buy one.

  • A worthy good point

  • whatz that game?!?!

  • in every crash it has a reaction and the smart is very small and it has lower mass. so when happens a crash the is catapulted (you don't want to be in side of the smart :S)

  • wht is the video game?

  • very interesting to see the driver compartment was in good shape in the 3 major crashes. this for me is a major factor when thinking about smaller greener cars. if they stick some batteries in it to lower its centre of gravity even further (and probly up the acceleration) it'll be well worth a look and worthy of the name 'Smart' which petrol engines can hardly claim.

  • if u want a green car then just paint the one u have now green

  • The New Smart Cars Are Hybrids So They Are MUCH More Eco Freindly!!!! Go Smart

  • wrgWTHRQATN

  • its a crap car

  • cool i think...........

  • hey, they put collective soul in it!!!

  • Agree!

  • I love the clip at 0:57 where the merc blows it to bits

  • the car is not flip out because look how free they move...

  • what video game has the smart cars in it

  • i think its like midtown madness 3 for origanal xbox.. haha except they called it a Flea that game was fun :)

  • the next rollover hazard.

  • Actually, they handle quite well.

  • Agreed, they've got a Mercedes Benz ESP and ABS system in there. I've heard of people renting them specifically to see if they can roll them. Obviously you can flip any car if you REALLY put your mind to it :)

  • "Not again!"

That's the most awesome thing that guy could ever have said.

  • and they want us to drive this shit on the interstate. I'm sorry but i wouldn't feel safe driving this car in any type of highway driving or even a big city.

  • I feel very safe when I drive mine.

  • same here. Just bought one and I feel that it is safe. Then again I also feel perfectly safe flying my homebuilt experimental airplane...

  • lol!

  • hey , what game was that?

  • Smarts are strong cars, cause they have a very hard frame/shell, but the engine is another story. It u get hit from other positions not including the front u would we ok. Ya and u gotta drive responsibly! No 150's on the wrong way!

  • the engine is in the back...

  • what video game is that you can race it

  • Why did they use a cable to put that car on the flatbed. 2 guys couldhave just lifted what was left on there.

  • The video has a clear and solid point. That point is don't drive your Smart like a jackass and it will treat you well. Drive stupidly and you will get what's coming to you. Smart cars are awesome.

  • smart cars arent smart, period.

  • you aren't smart.

  • The one comment from the young guy "NOT AGAIN!" LMAO! Like he has done that before. Smart.
