That owl is Rock n' Roll xD \m/ awesome, i think its nice u are giving her a mouse with fur and everything on, it must feel more natural for her to eat :D
Does it usually take her this long to eat? cause it looks like youve been trying to feed her for a while xD or was she just distracted by the camera and trying to look "Lady-like" LOL
@CKelaiditis A few reasons really, don't have to keep a colony of breeding mice to feed to her, She's not kept in a mouse proof avairy or cage so the mouse would easily escape and I don't want mice running around everywhere. Live food can easy hurt the owl...... It happened with my Hawk when she went for a live rabbit and finished her flying season early. I can gut the mouse while frozen and take out the bits that's no good for her. Cleaner, easier, cheaper. Why feed live when you don't have to?
@Mykidrm Ouch, sorry for your hawk and I hope she recovered fast. As for the reasons you don't use live feeders, fair enough ;) I see your point and I agree.
First of all I just wanna say that your Cutch is absolutely adorable. But what kind of place did you get her from? She is obviously domesticated and well behaved, I have been wanting an owl as pet for quite some time but thought it impossible because of the kind of animal they are. The last thing I would want to do is put an innocent owl at risk just because, I want one.
@M1ssSunn13 Hi, thanks for getting in touch. I've had a quick look at your profile and you are from Canada, I'm in the UK and I'm sorry but I'm not too sure of your legislation in regard to keeping Birds Of Prey or Falconry license. In the UK you don't need one and we can just go to the breeder and buy them. I got her from a private breeder
@AQWEriy123 She has an outside avairy that she flys in and she flys around in our house. But she's not flown in a completely open space because the risk of her getting hurt/killed by larger birds and predators is too high....... we want to to be kept safe and healthy. So flys daily, just not in open areas. To be honest, owls are very lazy and would happily just sit there all day
By any chance did you get her off a guy known as Dave owl? I know abit random, just that i live in north wales and worked with owls & hawks untill recently and thats who we got a couple of ours off.

@9VARZ We find the way we feed her the best. As she is so small, she needs to eat little and often, it is very easy to underfeed little birds. On another note, I prefer to use a large mouse cut in half instead of a small mouse because I can easily gut the mouse when I cut & defrost it. That way I can take out all the waste that she wouldn't eat before she gets it, and the waste goes straight in the bin.......... other than all over her enclosure
@nobodynoticed I'm not sure about the laws in any other countries but you should be able to get hold of information from your local government about the animals that are permitted within your particular country....... hope that helps?
@TheWunny Yeah, as you said she was distracted but it usually take her about 20 - 30 mins to finish half a mouse. But it depends how hungry she is or if she wants to play with it first
Sorry yo bother u, u have any idea if it's legal in argentina to have them as pet? or a place to check where u can? (except uk of course, cause u said there u can) because i can't find any place and a friend and i love owls so we want one u.u

Your owl is so pretty - and full of personality. They're my favorite birds (of prey)!! The owl seems to really love you.

@Mykidrm plz more vidz of Cutch, and don't worry I'm carnivore too! (but I don't eat mouse)...
1) Is it clean? or she makes pellet and pee throughout the house?
2) Is what it is affectionate?
3) Do you let her fly free ? can you let a window opens ?
4) Do you have a owl nest box ?
5) what does she the day/night ?
6) Do you give some foods on the table ?
7) did she fear of humans she does not know?
8) Is it hisses?
9) can we listen to music with an owl? or is that their ears are too sensitive?

Why not live mice? Would be more natural for the owl, more appealing as well. Unless of course you're prohibited by law.

@Mykidrm i know that here in france we need licence for eagles and hawks, does the owl fits in the same category?

do you have to feed your owl mice specifically?
is it okay to give owls frozen meat instead?
I don't have an owl but I'm just curious, what happens if you give them frozen meat.
thanks for your videos

@yjd7851 all the food she is given is thawed frozen meat, be it mice rat or chick
thanks for your comment

On average, about how long does it take her to finish her meal? It seems she was a bit distracted with being filmed while eating. :3
