  • The sound is almost similar, but the question is: The Gibson (traditional guitar) in my opinion is much more confortable to play, the body give us sustain...

  • Holy shit this thing is amazing LOL I want one!

  • I actualy like the lapstick better!

  • awesome playing karmart! but I am sorry to say the Gibson sound crap and so tell me the latpstick is real good. All the best my friend.

  • Thanks! Im going to get one soon and was worried abt the tuning since i also sing with it. Ill follow your string suggestions. Im excited to get it! VERY HELPFUL VIDEO!

  • I tried daddario ej22 for standard tuning as well but it seemed quite sloppy. Maybe I should try the baritone string.

  • I geused it right!

  • What is the colour of your guitar ?? Natural or Red, Thank you very much

  • I MUST get one of these!!!!! :)

  • Sorry - I just accidentally deleted someone's very nice question about the modes I use when I play. My answer to that deleted question is below...

  • There is a video by Chic Corea where he shows how he creates lines based on rhythmic ideas rather than melodic ideas-that is really my approach. When I need inspiration, I listen to Pat Martino for phrasing and rhythmic ideas. I wish I had the patience to sit down and figure out specific licks but whenever I do that I find it too tedious. Go on myspace and search for titosdaddy2 to hear a sample from my fusion trio - I will post again when I get closer to where I want to be with my technique!

  • @karmar101 Could you post me the link?

  • My trio: myspace dot com/titosdaddy2

CHic Corea video is called KEYBOARD WORKSHOP

  • @karmar101 Oh thx. I'll check out ur trio. Lol Seems like your fustrated with me with the Caps. Sorry im tired and i skipped alittle bit though your last comment.

  • No frustration - I made the caps just to highlight the title - I should have used quotes.. Thanks again for your comments - good luck with your playing - you should check out the Chic Corea video - it is on netflix - its title is "Keyboard Workshop" - but it should be called "Jazz Improv Workshop"

  • Thank you for uploading. this guitar is revolutional... also very good for the people who have very small hands.

  • Nice chops!

They both sound electric, no real acoustic sound. It is a nice sound.

  • No disrespect karmar101, but I didn't even care which was which!!! Bro, YOU SOUND GOOD!! I just wanted to hear you play!! I play keys and you gave me some homework!! LOL!

  • I had no idea that a tube lipstick could be used to make music. Where have I been? I have an old Gibson archtop that does not sound 1/2 as good as your lipstick.

On a completely different topic, your playing really sounds terrific in this insane demo.

    Hashi

  • drummers a bit stiff ;-)

  • Man, you got crazy mad skillz on that banjo, brother! What is the normal pitch that the lapstick is tuned to? Where can I buy your albums? Are you on myspace?

  • Thanks for your comments! You can download live cuts from my fusion band on myspace - do a search for titosdaddy2 and check out my most inspired solo ever on The Goliath Effect...

  • Great demo. Can you please share what brand and gauges of each of the 6 strings you are using on the Lapstick? Thx.

  • Thanks Steve! I have experimented with a lot of different gauges. The best set of strings that suits my playing starts with a Daddario EJ22 set for the 4 low strings: E=.056, A=.046, D=.036, G=.026w. The unwound strings in the EJ22 feel too floppy to me when tuned down to B and E, so I use a Daddario wound XL 0.018 for both the E and B strings. One set of strings ends up costing me $8.80 with the two extra strings - but I can get TWO string changes on the Lapstick out of one set!
