How to flash Samsung Innov8 Firmware

hey man i have a really annoying problem and im trying to find a solution 4 it for some time now.when i connect my phone with 1 and 4 pressed apollo does not recognize any pda on my i8510 and the program SSDN_V1.1.808.7165_SETUP_whql simply doesnt install.it just starts up but then nothing happens.what can i do so i can get it installed?

Hi @all! If you have a battery problem with your innov8, pull out the sd card. I had that problem and after pulling the sd card the battery worked fine. Whatever, its been a long time, now i'm using a htc...

okay i figured it out, u have to press 1 and 4 with the tunr on/off button, three buttons at the same time.

Dear Anphase,

I'm at my wits end with this phone... desperate for advice... everythin Ok whilst following your simple instructions until, in Apollo:

I try to load the .xml files PDA or Code Image / CSC Image and upon locating and selecting said files, I get error message from apollo "Failed to instantiate DOMDocument class 40"

i've tried 2 diff versions of apollo as well as different firmware... ALL same result!

Please HELP ANYBODY !!

Thanks for the tutorial! After updating my firmware, it seems a lot faster when navigating the menus. Also the C: drive seems to have more free space than before.

hey bro i hav a problem ......... when i connect my phone pressing 1 and 4 then apollo shows pda driver ....but when i press 7 and * n connect my phone then it dnt show modem driver.......... they asked me to install the driver......... i did evry possible thing ....... n searched the driver on net to solve this problem ........but still i cant find the samsung cdma modem driver.......... plz can u tell me how can i solve this problem? from where i can download driver ?

Try switching the USB port or using another computer. You could also completely uninstall then reinstall PC Studio. As long as PC Studio is installed correctly, you don't need any additional drivers.

I'm not sure what that exact firmware update has but expect amongst other things better battery life, improved performance, better pictures and videos, new and/updated applications and several bug fixes.

I flashed the IX...2 with Apollo 5.27. The Ix...5 didn#t work. I already read that there might be background Apps running. But how can I close them? Would it help if I'd flash the phone once more with the IX...5 and Apollo 6.05?

Not sure re-flashing will help.. You could try other firmware maybe. I didn't experience any battery drain though.. Good luck mate.

Yup, if you do it wrong it can screw up your phone. Watch the video, understand it, and when you're confident go ahead and do it. Most people have no trouble at all.

Thanks, so simple! But I decided not to make any firmware updates with the risk of voiding my guarantee for nothing. Maybe I'll do it with a firmware that fixes the camera settings problem, but to my knowledge there's no such thing.

You lose the stuff in phone memory, like messages but you can use pc studio to sync your contacts and even messages anyway. Stuff on the storage card and on the built in 8/16gig remains intact. cheers

Hey, my Innov8 stopps always at the "MODEM DOWNLOAD" Mode. If is press the Buttons the handy switches to the MODEM DOWNLOAD Mode, but Apollo 6.05 doesn´t recognize it at the COM port. I reinstalled the Drivers, but nothing works. What can I do? because of this the ALL DOWNLOAD doesnt work too.

What firmware version are you trying to flash? Apollo 5 is the ideal to use for some of the firmware that's out there. You can check out samsungi8510 site forums for further help.. cheers

i had to pay $10 to get the apollo by getting into megaupload and then cannot find the effing firmware. no response from ANPHASE. i see many others asking for it. scammed my money.

I seem to get most of it working but when it comes to selecting the file for PHD and code in Apollo v6.05, it come with an error message 'Failed to instantiate DOMDocument40 class.

I love my I8510.... Superb camera phone specially i got a kid and i use it when we go out and snaps some pics. my dlsr is too big.

hope samsung do something about this coz this going to be a big problem for user when they release the Omnia HD.
