Just so nobody is arguing whether Jill was firing her gun at the zombified dobermans, here's what happened. Joseph was being mauled to death, and while that was happening he was trying to shoot his shotgun while there was a doberman latched to his arm. He then ran out of fire. Jill just stood there in shock. I mean come on I think I know the difference between a shotgun blast and a bereeta gunshot.
