Just heard Melissa Manchester's version for the first time,and it's excellent.

However she doesn't convince that the incidents in the song actually happened,whereas

Elkie does.That huskiness in Elkie's voice always gave her a huge advantage over others.

I can understand why some people prefer Melissa Manchester's version of this song as it's much more "mainstream" in vocal quality. Elkie on the other hand is in a different league not so immediately appealing but much more unique and ultimately superior.

Thanks for the upload. I didn't even know this version existed. I only "discovered" it after reading a Youtube user's comment regarding the Melissa Manchester version which I have always known. Not wanting to sound overly patriotic, I cringe to say that I prefer the Melissa Manchester version, but that said this version is quite nice as well. Cheers!
