I met Faron briefly through a mutual friend while I was a nightclub manager in Nashville, seemed like a helluva nice guy. The story I got at the time of his death was that he had advanced Emphysema, and it finally got to the point where he was almost incapacitated. I'm not going to speculate beyond that. He was and is a legend, a stylist in an era of legendary stylists. Wish we had more like him.

I lived down the street from Faron at the time of his death, and spent many mornings with my father and him at a local diner in Old Hickory, TN. There's alot of speculation regarding his death. The report stated that he was shot twice in the head.. once in the forehead,, shattering the forehead,, and second wound entering his left temple, and exiting his right eye. Faron was right handed. why shoot through the left side of the head?

A story that I read was Faron Young had a form of cancer and cmmmited suicide.I was glad that Ralph Emory and Nashville now gave his carrer a resurgence. I will never forget the halloween show on nashville now when Faron came out dressed as Dorothy from the wizard of oz!

Sad but true. Faron took his own life 12/10/06 after years of declining health. I miss him a lot.

Faron Young was RIGHT Handed and was shot through his left temple and the bullet came out his right eye. How does one who is right-handed shoot themselves in the left side of the head? I'm not a CSI tech, but even a two year could figure that out! The man did NOT commit suicide ! Period ! End of Discussion !
