@mrzuli i'm pretty sure that was back in the day... he has to know at least about scales to create those lines. and after SA he returned to study trumpet, so his knowledge of notes, scales, modes and etc etc must have severely improved

@mrzuli Flea also enrolled in bass classes at a local university during the By The Way era, and said in the recent SA interviews that he not only studies theory, he has picked up guitar and learned chords. He also for a short period performed bass for the Jazz Cal Tech group.

And I think I went into the new album unfairly expecting it to be not so good (that and Frusciante's departure, which just didn't work last time...) I didn't like it at first. But after a few listens ... i like it. I really, really miss John. But it's still pretty cool.

Anyways I dont think john cares if people call him the best or the worst, he just loves music and i know for a fact he coudnt live without playing a guitar every single day if not every second.
