@shantishante I saw a pic in a book of National Geograhic of a 3 or 4 yr old child somewhere in south africa squatted down drawing something into the dusty ground with a stick. The child was starving to death with all it's bones protruding and stretching the skin. If that wasn't disturbing enough, what really got me was right behind the boy was a vulture twice his size knowing and waiting for the boy to die. I ussume whoever took that picture eventually made the vulture go away, but point made.

I got sucked in to others' suffering of separation by joining in the comparisons.

The ego is tricky and mutates to hide and survive as we shed light on it, so it's subtlties are less in our conscious as we develope spiritually.

I've been a student for 20 years now. ACIM has been a such an incredible comfort to me. The countless Miracles I could tell you about are amazing. The relationship with Jesus is so personal and so deeply loving and so steadfast. He is always there for me IF I am there for him. I'm always amazed at how quickly I can reestablish our relationship. While ACIM has a lot of biblical themes in terms of Christ like character, there are some funamental things that are way off base and contradictory from biblical truth. Yes, the Course speaks a great deal about the nature of sin/guilt/fear/ego/mind, but that's not what is meant to be focused on because what we focus on, we perpetuate. Fear begets more fear, love begets more love. We need to understand the ego so we aren't drowned by it, but the message is to focus on love/forgiveness, which replaces the negativity of the ego. Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, etc. all taught love/compassion.
