If the Civil War had not been fought, slavery would have been extended into the western states which were entering the union.. Slavery would have INCREASED AND EXPANDED WESTWARD..

Thanks. The fact that Huckabee's son did this doesn't really reflect that harshly on him, just his son. I know plenty of good people that did great raising their kids, but the children still become "turds". What does reflect badly is the abuse of power to cover it up. I don't hate Huckabee, I just know he is dishonest.

Other countries abolished slavery without Civil Wars.
Some examples:
Britian 1833, France 1848, Sweden 1846, Denmark 1848, Portgual 1856, Holland 1860,
Brazil 1884 & 1890, Cuba 1898.
Slavery was a dying institution & I so wish Sam Houston had been elected President instead of Lincoln as it would've BEEN SO MUCH BETTER FOR OUR COUNTRY.

There's truth in your statement but in CW times demand lessened greatly.
The Confederate Constitution was modeled after the US Constitution, except it had a provision prohibiting the importation of slaves.
Mechanization and the floods of Irish immigrants into the south would've made slavery obsolete without a CW.
