After 17 years of life. I'm believing in christian (i just writed love). I have chosen to believe in got untill one motnht where i speak to myself about if i believe god. I am not trying to tell if god want to give me something but i sure hope so, or a sign... but that would be unfair!
This is called the 'No True Scotsman' fallacy. It postulated that anyone who stops believing in god couldn't possibly have been a REAL christian. It's utter nonsense! I was just as smug and annoying as you are before I realized what an utter crock religion was. Clue: You cannot have a relationship with something fictional. It is a one-sided deal which excludes the definition 'relationship.'
@Christheatheist1 You have to enter into a "relationship" before you can have one. I am sorry for you. You are questioning a thelogy you dont beleive in. Search and find the truth. Be courageous!
@jneal1957 - A relationship takes two. Not one and a myth. You are not in a relationship with this religious myth because it cannot answer anything you ask. It is a delusion. If you are hearing it answer you, seek psychiatric help straight away.
@Christheatheist1 Obviously, you will never change my view as i will not change yours. You sound like a real intelligent person Chris. Too smart to just believe.Out side looking in. What is it you do believe? Life is just a game of craps? Live then die? If your right, why live? I choose to believe there is more to it than that. "On that Day", every knee will bow and every tounge will confess, Jesus is Lord. On that day it will be too late. I pray you search for the truth.
@jneal1957 - I live my life as though every day is the last. I have hairy cell leukemia and I don't expect to get significantly older than I am now. I take a great deal of comfort in the knowledge that I live in the natural world. Death is the natural conclusion to life. I don't fear it, nor do I wish to hasten it. It just is what it is. When I left religion behind in favor of the real world I felt a great weight lift from me. My life is precious to me and I am filled with hope that
@jneal1957 ..a cure will be found. I have no need for the false comfort of a silly fantasy about eternal life. The thought of eternal consciousness is terrifying to me. When I die I will rejoin the elements of this planet and go back to being the star stuff I started out as. How much more special do you want to be? Living in reality is greatly comforting. I hope for you that you cease to waste your life waiting for a do-over that will never happen.
@Christheatheist1 Hey Chris, I am so sory about your sickness. Your right. That along with death is part of the natural or physical world we currently live. I spent time this morning praying for you. How long have you been living with this? What was it that made you leave religion behind? I hate the word religion. Its so impersonal. I hope it was not a pretend christian. They give true believers a bad name. Dont worry, i am living life with a spritial/eternal hope. Its great.
@jneal1957 I've been an atheist for over ten years. I was a christian for over 30 years. I slowly realized that my beliefs didn't add up. There is no credible reason to believe in it because there is no evidence for it. A christian is someone who professes a belief in the divinity of Jesus. The "fake christian" nonsense is an easy out for those who can't face the fact that the religion is contradictory. Look up the "No True Scotsman" fallacy. You will die the same as I will.
@Christheatheist1 You could be close to my age. 54. I was a "fake Christian" for 30 years or more and a true believer for 10. ironic isnt it? the differnce is i find nothing contradictory now. It just adds up as you put it.Ever realy thought about what is credible? I iwll check out NTS for your sake but it wont change me. Ive been changed by a highr source. Yes my body will perish one day. I just beleive in eternal life instead of eternal death. Bible or the Scotsman? Humm!
@jneal1957 I AM 54. You weren't a "fake" christian, you were a christian. Your inability to square rationality with an irrational belief system forced you into cataclysmic denial and a state of cognitive dissonance. The provable is credible. Real life is credible. The No True Scotsman fallacy states that anyone who does not operate within your narrow scope of behaviour can't be a "true" christian. It's bollocks.
@Christheatheist1 Obviously, I will never change your mind and you will never change my heart. Were on different paths. Im ok with that. I am only instructed to share the gospel, but you know that. I will continue to pray for your healing, both physical and spiritial. my email is jnealboy57@gmail.com. check in some time and let me know how you are doing.
@Christheatheist1 can you prove it was "inability" that changed his mind? im almost 100% sure your full of shit and have no science to back that up. at all.
years of experence do not = evidence. sorry but i feel as tho 1 of my years could equal atleast 5 of yours. not everyone is the same, thinks the same, learns or experences the same.
@Christheatheist1 there will never be complete truth for more will always be discovered. thus never absolute. your saying the human race knows everything. your full of shit sorry. nice try tho.
@Christheatheist1 you sound like a christian believeing in absolutes. even scientists not only agree and work within the means that they expect that thay can and might be wrong despite how much truth they obtian. im sorry but if you claiming you "know" something you are not truly inlightened. you must first expect you know very little but have the ability to understand it. like i said when i start feeeling "pwned" ill let you know.
A Christian Atheist is someone who believes in God, yet finds no credible evidence for any God.
Even though I understand your intent, your twisting of words can't get around that completely illogical statement..
