  • holy crap there's an army of trumpets. Are they eating the clarinets?

  • on dat begging band isshhhhh

  • NICE POSTURE!!!!!!!

  • NICE POSTURE

  • I would pass out loooking at all the people

  • wow! that's alot of trumpets! In my class we have 9 trumpets,2 baratones,4 trombones,1 on piano,5 flutes,2 clarinetes,1 base clarinete,5 percutionists,1 saxophone,and 1 alto saxophone.Our band teacher plays every instroment so i guess maybe that would be + 1 on everyone.

I guess it's highly unlikely im gonna get any thumbs on this, hehe.

  • i am a 6th grade and play much better than that! and when i was in my 2nd month i could play better than that! i was a 4th grade then! i dont understand why she is phenomenal??? ooh i now! beacuse the norwegians can play trumnpet much better then the amercians!

  • tht double horn loks way to big for the french horn kid by cierra

  • i didnt get that much attention when i was just as good after three months! I was first chair the first year i started band!

  • shes good for only 3 months!

  • trumpets all over the place!

  • This girl has more potential than most trumpet players her age (well at the time her age, according to the post shes in high school now so i'd love to see a follow up video if she still plays to see where she's at, gonna search in a minute). To the people who are negative....of course its not perfect, she's been playing for 3 months. You shouldn't be comparing her to professionals, just someone playing 3 months. Keep working at it Ciera :)

  • @heypepper She actually didn't play any more after this year. I agree she was good, but I can't blame her - she has dry skin & lips, and her poor mouth looked so painful after a few weeks. Granted she could have taken more care, but she was pretty young them. She's into guitar now.

  • @youmongrel my friend who plays trombone has such terrible lips i havent seen him with no dead skin on his lips. but he is still first chair trombone. and btw she was amazing and brave to go in front of a crowd like that.

  • practice practice. Have fun with it. Good Luck!

  • She is very talented, don't listen to all these people trolling. You have talent and with many hours of practice you'll be a trumpet phenom. I was in 7th grade last year (it's summer now) and I marched in my high school band and we got 3rd in the Texas state marching competition. It was an honor and I was privileged to march but I had the talent from so many hours of practice to make it, I also made 2nd chair wind ensemble because I spent entire weekends practicing. The main thing is practice p

  • holy crap that's alot of trumpets!!!

  • the best band directors play trombone or trumpet.

  • omg in the whole band we got like 20 trumpets and they ALL SUCK BADLY expept me and this other dude.

  • wow that is Freakishly good for her age!

  • I could have played it much better, but I'm older than Ciera and have been playing trumpet longer. For a first solo that was good.

  • only 6th and 7th? we couldve done that song in lik 4tH!!!! lol... its okay tho..

  • short and sweet!

  • wish our neighborhood had that many trumpet players

    too many frickin saxaphones!!!

  • Good job!

  • That's A LOT of brass players XD

  • if there was that much trumpets in my schol i wouldent do it!

  • What! Why not? I wish the whole band was trumpets!!!

  • our school band rocks

  • @bandnerd2014 hmm actually correct posture for a trumpet player is not what they tell you it is in marching band...angled toward the ground is an accurate angle for the horn

  • My schools band is awesome i play th flute soon to be the alto sax But great job i couldnt do that

  • i like the teachers trombone jazz take on the song

  • 10/10 good jod i play the trumpet!

  • what are the notes i only 12 lol good

  • holy crap thats ALOT of trumpets!!

my band was the same but instead of alot of trumpets it was alto saxophones

we had three rows of them!

  • aweome ;)

our band has alot of trumpets

  • that's a lot of trumpets!

  • how many trumpets are there???

  • dude im in beginning band at my high school and man were good as hell

were playing cameleon by maynard ferguson

  • Good job but the person next to you was pretty bad... he looked confused on every fingering lol

  • ohh and if anyone knows what the bmr band is blackstone millville regional and how elite they are. (not trying to brag but i said if u know them so if u do u would know anyway) thats the school im in

  • i bet my schools' band is better than yours

  • lol this is there beginning band. and i bet my band is even better. we have some of the top players in asia.

  • really nice job. i am in 7th grade too (though u may be in 6th the description dosent clearly state what grade you are in.) ive been playing 3-4months i made

1st trumpet. i take private lessons. lemme tell ya making this honor of being so good in so littel time is very rewarding. very few people were unhappy with my sucess. my though to be friend told me "i was the worst trumpet player in the world and i should quit because i suck!!!" but that is just because he made 2nd. good for you!!!!!!!!

  • ... wow i can do that even if i was 1 wats so special about this?

  • not bad for 6th grade but if she not already taking private lesson i would recommend it helps a lot and it will make her even better player

  • I can do that im the same age

  • Good for you

  • for 6th grade playing for 3 months, this girl is phenomenal. i hate all the people here that think they professionals and are tryin to down her. even memorizing music at this age is difficult. if she stays with it, she'll be a BEAST. just like me :) great duet

  • the kid is O.K for have been playin for 3 months but it could be better because i think tht teachers main instrument is a brass so its easier to teach her. BUT the only bad thing that i have noticed is that she is blatty with her playing and uses the upper part of her body to use her air creating a not so warm sound in the trumpet. She is good though for bein 6th or 7th grade.

  • you dont know if his main is brass. band directors usually play about ever instrument and are pretty good at it. my director is a clarinet player and taught me everything i know about trumpet. now im section leader, brass captain and made DCA for the summer. quit hating!

  • r u fer real i dont give a shit if his main is a brass tht girl is good for only playin for 3 months and memorizin music isnt tht hard in 7th grade i memorized brooklyn (marching version) and 007 AND i marched that shit up the stage so idc wtf u have accomplished cause i have done stuff tht is good as well

  • @Renendan Give the kid a break. She's been playing 3 months and is already better than some of the trumpet players I work with!

She'll be a cracking player in a few years

  • @tromjock ummmmmm...i commented on this 6 months ago.......was there really a need to make a comment on something i commented about half a year ago about?

  • @Renendan By that logic was there any point in commenting on a video that had been on you tube for the best part of three years? Go and take your ego somewhere else, or preferably use a rather large nail to pop it.

  • @tromjock You should realize that my ego isn't really that high, and when I commented the first time I didn't know that the video had been on youtube for 3 years. And so rather than take my not so big ego and pop it I will give you some advice. 1. Don't reply to people's comments when they have been sitting in the comment box for 1+ months because by then the commenter (me) doesn't give a shit anymore. And 2. Don't make random judgements off of people (like me) after one encounter with them.

  • @Renendan You have a small ego? Perchance you should re-read your opening comment, just to make sure that your tiny ego hasn't come out with the atypical American - "I'm better than you coz I been playin super z'ds in 1st Grade". Get a grip man! (That's awfully sexist of me, for all I know you are female...however I digress).

Also many thanks for the advice, I will bear that in mind when making any future comments (although I would suggest you do care, hence the terse reply!) GL

  • @tromjock Let me respond with this:

    1. I never said that I had a small ego, all I stated was that it wasn't big.

    2. I don't really know how saying that my apparently tiny ego hasn't come out with the atypical American is sexist.

And 3. Thanks for the good luck, I wish you good luck in your pursuit to try and make people seem stupid or seem like jerks over the internet. And as the people in America think often but are too afraid to say, "Bye bye bitch, I hope I never hear from you again".

  • @Renendan 1. Ok, I'll leave you to a moderately large (or small ego, depending on which day it is).

    2. Something lost in translation here. Get a grip man/woman. As I said before I've no idea whether you are male or female (I'm not really that interested in finding out).

    3. You don't need any help from me to do that

    Toodle Pip!

  • Awfull posture i remember in 5th grade our band teacher would take our shoes away if we dident sit up during practice/concerts

  • ah 6th grade, horribly slow tempos and tons of trumpets, good times, and not bad for 3 months

  • TRUMPETS ROCK!!!!!!!

  • Ohh dang thats a big Band:]

  • am i the only non-trumpeteer that loves the trumpet more than her instrument? lol i play saxophone, she's pretty good for three months into band =]

  • wtf dont they no too keep there backs off the chair..

  • they are in resting position. its fine

  • my 6th garde band played the one from essential elements 2.

  • 6th grade? i played this song (did it come from the essential elements book?) with my band in 6th grade. I actually had a solo on "new world symphony, i was the only one who tried out. I'm also a trumpet player (:

  • Wow if that's after 3 months imagine what she'll be like after 3 years!

  • My school is strict on our sound, posture, and behavior. In this concert, the percussion section was too loud, the trumpet's posture was horrible, and kids were noticeably talking way too much! I'm not trying to hurt your feelings, I am just labeling what your band is not good at so you all can be better musicians.

  • Yes same at mi school. if our teacher catches us with bad posture we get a x for the day. @ our concert we were not allowed to talk AT ALL or else.....

  • That must suck. At my school, it's pretty laid back, were just young adults playing for our parents, or the occasional contest, but we are out their to have fun. So that's what we do, talking, with bad posture and all :P

  • Wonderfully done!! Are you still playing trumpet? I hope so!

O, and don't mind all the idiots with negative things to say. They live in a small world and have to put others down to make them self feel better.

    Rock on!

  • yeah! good time too!

  • God did NOBody at the school want to play a woodwind??? I think the whole band besides the percussion section was brass!!! crazy. anyway great performance. I definately wouldnt have been courageous enough to take a solo in middle school. now i play 2nd trumpet in my jazz band in high school and i am required to solo... :)

  • ever think it might be jazz band or a all brass band?????

  • AHHH didnt think of that. But i didnt think that was likely since its a middle school. But that could be true. My middle school doesnt have a class for jazz band or an all brass ensemble. But that could possibly be the case

  • tone of trumpets

  • YOU GO LITTLE GIRL!!! im only in 8th grade, but u sound really good for not playing for long. ive been playing since 5th grade. Im getting better. keep it up!

  • good!

  • Great playing. Great arrangement. Great orchestra. Way to go!

  • only one lonley little french horn player.

  • Wow she's way better than I was at three months in! (But she kind of has an advantage... I was four in my third month playing.. Haha) You go girl!!

    Female trumpet power!!

  • You go girl!

  • 1:32 xD hahah ;P

  • LOL

  • hahahahaha

  • lol he middle finger?

    lmao.

  • ah beginner band... those were the days

  • she is not (great) but she if good for a beginning bander

  • And you are not great at putting a sentance together properly, but maybe if you practice more you could sound like you know the English language a little bit :)

  • im first tmpt in our big band- tis mint

  • Excellent!!!! Music does so many wonderful things for kids. It's too bad that the arts have been removed from many public schools.

  • That was good for only three months :) My name is Sierra and I play trumpet too, that's so cool! :D Good luck with your music career and such. Hey, is this an all brass band or something? I didn't see any woodwinds at all.

  • hey letsfight, when you play the trumpet and you realse your pinky from the ring, it allows for more movement in your ring finger. But i guess you allready knew that

  • lol ok good kid bad director.

Trumpet players-pinky outside the ring, sit up dont slouch in your seat it narrows the flow of air and it creates a bad sound, separate your teeth more,-{there are THIRTY SIX TRUMPETS IN THIS BAND!)

were the hell are all the woodwinds?

  • Comment removed

  • well of course you could that was her 3rd month playing

  • What is name of this song????

    Not bad;p

  • when the saints go marching in

  • Good job. i have been playing the trumpet for two years know, i used to play that song, know weere into harder stuff, i am the only girl who plays the trumpet, two.

  • Lucky, lol. I wanted to play trumpet, but ALL the girls were playing it!

  • me 2. im first chair :) ive been playing for 2 years. i played that song in beginners band and now we have high school work although im in middle school. were playing dillons flight and appalachian morning for a contest.

  • i am third chair but i deserve to be first chair its so unfair... i am waaay better than the first and second chair ugggggh! i amm soooo mad... i hate my band teacher!

  • great job

  • good job! keep up the good work! I teach trumpet and would love to have someone who's only been playing for 3 months who has that good a tone and feel for the music.

  • wow that's an insane band

where would a kid go to be in a beginning band with more than 4 tubas and french horns?

  • thats a nice sized band

  • Very good for your 3rd month, just try to play the trumpet at the audience and not at the floor, it will improve your tone, range, and dynamics. Great Job! Good luck in the Future!

  • thats kewl! my bf plays that!

  • that band is huge

  • i remember when i was in beginner band and we used to play stuff like this. the drums with there simple beat and the band slowed up. good times, good times

  • Third month? SNap!

BTW...when you play don't lift your fingers off above the valve. When you start playing really fast stuff you wont have a prayer. Leave them lightly resting on top

    Really good though!

  • that was great just work on the tone but ill come to u as u get older

  • woot go. im in jazz band too. i play trumpet and im pretty bad at it

  • sweeter than an apple pie. Obama is cool. My voice sounds weird. Dont make fun of it. I have metereoneusaligicalistic mengirisiania.

  • beginning band playing double horn?

that kid looks ridiculous with it though

Good job on the solo, hopefully she'll become great

  • i feel like ive seen the director/trombone player before... could you tell me his name?

  • wow i give her a lot of credit. she doesn't even look that nervous...

  • I am a trumpet player in New Orleans and i play that song so much it isn't even funny. keep up the good work and you will be a star. Great Job!

  • Holy pigoda, only three months? o_o That's great.

Keep playing, you'll get far with it :)

  • that's a massive band o.O

good job! you have a pretty awesome sound!

    keep it up ciera!

    =D

  • haha sweet ciera i play trumpet also im first chair trumpet at my school. I wouldn't have the gut to go out there and play i would tottaly screw up good job!

  • in our 6th grade we have 1french horn, 5 trumpets, 3 percussionists, 6 clarinets, 2 flutes, 3 saxaphones, and 2 trombones

  • Your a beautiful girl Ciera....

    Good Luck

  • in our junior high band i wish we had that many players!

6 trumpets 6 flutes 5 trombones 6 clarinets 1 baritone (euphonium) 3 percussion 3 french horns. in our junior high band...

  • she would sound a lot better with a higher horn angle

  • What grade is she in? I'm in 6th, and I play flute, and my school band is maybe 10 times smaller than that one.

  • im in 7th grade, my 2nd year of playing the trumpet. ive played at football games. ive seen better but you'll get there

  • Wow, amazing for just 3 months

  • you are good but you will probably get better more you pratice keep up the good work!!

  • Koooooooll nice playing!!

  • I would not be able to do that infront of my school after only three months, ive been playing or 4 years.

    your amazing

  • Awesome! An all brass band.

  • There was percussion in the back?

  • He meant no woodwinds.

  • i hate when directors over explain everything

  • 3 months and that good wow keep practicing

  • hold your horn up!!!!!

  • for the 3rd month of playing...u rock

  • go trumpet!! i play trumpet(im a girl) and im first chair! im so happy! when she raised her middle finger, she was playing a D.

  • at 1:31 she raises her middle finger

  • ....haha yeah. but for playing for only three months u gotta admit it's pretty good!

  • Excellent! Confidence like that at 3 months is superb.

  • are there enough trumpets in that band? lol

  • thank heavens a girl trumpeter!!!!! we dont get enough publicity! keep working and you could be amazing! and also, if your school has one, try out for jazz band! i play second trumpet in mine and am the only girl

  • HOLY shizz at three months i was still trying to learn my B flat scale...

  • wow keep practicing, when i started trumpet at three months i wayy worst then u were at three months so keep up the hard work

  • for 3 months that is progidy.

  • you guys have a lot more trumpet layers in ur school, in mine me and an other kid are the only ones, good job, but as the other ones said, giver her something hard to play...

  • good job for 3 months. keep practicing!

  • shes not to good ... but for a 3 month player shes alright i have been playing 4 1 year and when i was into 3 monthes i was a little better plus her solo was only a couple seconds long its not amazing they should have hade a harder solo thats so unbelivable easy and short it shouldnt have even been made a big deal out of but good job kid keep trying i would give that solo c+ keep trying

  • hey keep it up u have a nice sound

  • u no.... shes good, u should give her a longer and a little harder solo... trust me itll bring up confindense and skill to strive for a higher goal... i play trumpet.. thats what i did and im amazing, im allready in a symphony, and i played a high school B piece in a competion while i was in eighth grade!!! good luck!!

  • Congratulations, Ciera! Very nice work! Keep playing and loving it! Mom and Dad: Private Lessons! Soon! These will help her excel beyond belief!

  • That was VERY NICE!!! A wonderful performance, and certainly great for her age...
