  • 1st summer away from the 'old goats' guys had a ranch outside Leadville Colo

    lot of 3.2 beer

  • Must agree, I hate to sound old, but this is the shit, right here.............. Today's crap is crap.....

  • amen brother i to was in high to same time times then were magical not like today bullshit

  • We were there when Firefall was inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame...Denver, best time I had getting drunk on music and drink downtown in years!! LOVE these guys!

  • one of the prettiest songs ever

  • Well,i'm putting my rollerskates on again:}

  • There is nothing like this music; I am in my 60's so I grew up with it. I would LOVE to go back to those days again. Just remember, you can't say crap without rap!!!

  • Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.

  • @jeriann66 I am 61 but 30 in my heart. Music keeps you young! Keep in touch. I love this song!!

  • @jeriann66 I am 61. Stay in touch!

  • @pinkydogbear Where do you live ? I've lived in Calif. most of my life, but I'm living in Texas now. I doubt that I'll ever go back to Calif. unless I can find someone with a time machine! I just couldn't afford to live there anymore. I love classic rock & every couple of weeks or so, I go on You Tube & listen to them again. I'm glad to hear there are so many people that feel like I do about it. I MISS THOSE DAYS!!!!!!!

  • the late 70s..still didnt give a damn about anything..catchin a buzz now an then..FM radio was a lotta tunes like this..it was a good time.

  • JUST MISSED!!! "Strange Way" just missed making the Billboard's Top 10 chart; it peaked at No. 11 and spent a total of 19 weeks in the Top 100 in 1978. A year earlier, in 1977, Firefall would have another record that would peak at No. 11, "Just Remember I Love You" spent a total of 20 weeks in the Top 100!!!

  • Saw Firefall last Saturday in Henderson, NV! What an awesome show; They are still playing and sounding like they're at the top of their game! GO CHECK EM OUT!

  • i saw this band with Heart around 1979 awesome show both bands were in their prime..

  • I saw this band with the Doobie Brothers. I was amazed at how great they were.

  • This might be their best song.

  • Ah..........so nice to hear musicians.

  • I love this song. I am now 61 years old and stuck in the old music of the 1970's. What great memories. The Beatles on Ed Sullivan! This current song makes me cry. The lyrics and my grief, I suppose. It was a great era and I am glad I was born in 1950, as I had it all! And, still young at music.

  • Rap sucks donkey balls, and so does MTV for shoving the shit down the public's throat. But rap is not the worst of MTVs sins. Putting The Jersey Whore's, with that dumbass fucking, The Constipation and Nooki, on television, was a mortal sin in which all MTV execs who okayed it should burn in hell. Dumb fucks.

  • Awesome track! Genuine lyrics with a story to tell. The music instuments all come together...

  • beth an i together riding down the street in my camaro wow does this bring back memories

  • This song takes me way back, & still holds the test of time

  • graduated in 1978 from cypress high, those were the days.

  • Just reinforces the absolute KRAP that is coming over the radio now. No talent whatsoever...completely relying on electronics to be on pitch. It was so refreshing to watch the "Sing Off" with groups who could ACTUALLY SING ON PITCH AND IN TIME!

  • Sitting behind the PC you get bored so what do you do go to your favorites list and hit the play button and think about your past how cool is that brings back good and bad memories :)

  • the good old days when music men't something.......

  • Wonderful melody, a real classic. I enjoy listening to this kind of music !!

  • I would give anything to be alive when time travel is discovered so I can go back to my high school days, 1976-1979, and enjoy this music as it came on the radio for the very first time !

  • @spiderdragon1969 Looks like were in high school through the same years, and I couldn't agree more.

  • @spiderdragon1969 I agree completely but just keep in mind that in another 20 years or so, we'll be searching YouTube for the music we are hearing now....at least some of it anyway. Enjoy!

  • @spiderdragon1969 High school 72-76 (UTHS, East Moline, IL!!), so I know what you're talking about -- great music in the 70's!

  • @spiderdragon1969 .....I know what you mean, spider. I miss the

late 70's and early 80's ...the carefree, simple times. Things are

    so messy and complicated today:(

  • OMG, It's December 1978 all over again...

  • love this

takes me back to my youth

    i feel younger now

  • love rap and firefall...good music is good music!

  • this song almost always brings a tear to my eye. love it

  • now THIS is REAL music...

  • Love this song im african american and this is some great stuff i grew up on 70s music, times change, such is life all music changes this is great though.

  • Lead singer sounds like Marty Balin. Is it him, or who is it?

  • @wkseamans Rick Roberts is the lead singer. This band was from Boulder CO.

  • Reminds me of Journey..

  • rap is what destroyed the music industry

  • @djtoonice100 ..yes it has but then again i guess that's what they said about our music we listen to growing up, things change..not always for the best

  • @djtoonice100 Not only that, it's the technology that we have these days that do most of the work these days that make the music instead of us making it by hand. That is why rap has taken over because of that part!

  • @djtoonice100 Boy, ain't that the truth!! I grew up in the 60's & 70's & what a time! Kids nowadays don't know what real music is.

  • @djtoonice100 I agree 100 percent!

  • @djtoonice100 exactly buddy rap destroyed the music industry big time . For real listeners of good music we know all that .

  • now this is a song you never ever get tired of

  • i remember the days wow remember what i used to do as well lol

  • I agree with many of you who commented here. Something happened in the 60's that music just exploded into a couple of decades of amazingly rhythmic and creative music. I keep wondering if we can pinpoint what single action or event led to the destruction of this wonderful era of music. Nowadays, I turn on the radio for a few seconds and that's enough to discourage me from even trying to find something decent to listen. Somebody please invent the time machine already.

  • @ePauloX

Hey bro , know the feeling !

  • @ePauloX

I am with ya bro ........

  • this is magic (after year of the cat by al stewart probably my fav song). On Napster you get a recent 9min long live version but due to "difficulties" the dvd has not beenm released - get ovewr the difficulties and release the dvd please please please please please!!!!!

  • how can you not relate to this song love the song kicked back in my camaro t tops out wow great song

  • beth you remember this song? you walked out when i needed you and even today i still think what if but we all make mistakes i hope you are well love this song it will never grow old

  • I like that Santana-like ending.

  • heheh me to im just sittin here drinkin coffee smokein thinkin to some good tunes

  • I saw Firefall in the summer of 1975 at carowinds paladium. Got to go backstage and meet the fella's. They were all so nice. the lead singer wanted nothing to do with us, but I remember getting my picture taken wuth the saxophone player and the backline players...I was 11 years old. An experience I'll never forget. Had all of their autographs too. maybe that scrap of notebook paper will turn up eventually.

  • @maxti6 A lot of great acts came to the Carowinds Paladium years ago when I worked there.

  • drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes to this cool tune.

  • interesting song

  • many years ago my college girlfriend and i were close to the end of our relationship and we were together for one of the last times ,when this song came on i remember she said this was such a sad song. this song more or less explains what happened to us. soon after that day it was over. i think of her often when i hear this song.

  • this is the type of song that sounds better on AM radio.

  • I like how they kinda made it dreamy like sound.

  • I was born in 66 and i was somehow( fortunately)completely aware and hip to the great music of the time at a very young age (7 or 8) It has always stayed with me, and it is always amazing to me to read so many comments from all the people that feel the same way I do.

  • @Jeffkozmusic I was born in 67 & ur rite how some music just "stays w/u." I have 2 best friends that are in their 70's & tell me I'm an "old soul." I take that as a compliment!

  • @48kams It is a compliment i think. Is'nt weird that when your 45 you still in most ways feel young but when you try to do things you used to do your body quickly reminds you that you are NOT so young anymore! It's that way with me anyway.

  • I like the way puts her down..in a subtle way..

  • love this song it brings back a lot of good memories great band

  • @MrJameswildcat

I was in college, great time, carefree. I guess most of us would like to spend a little more time back in our youth.

  • I dedicate this song to Diane Oberle, dear friend of mine, California. the night we heard this song together, was the last time we saw one another this was long time that passed but the memory with me for ever will last

  • It seemed most of the guys from that era had such soft voices..and it works for us girls in some way

  • There is always that weirdo in the crowd....

  • @TheTrippybutterfly Just my interpretation...why the hate??? Cheers to you too...

  • my youth was not wasted,, just wish I had more..

  • @TheTrippybutterfly The words are about her being in love with another man and using this man...

  • ron duvalls van after softball at naval ordance field where are you ron do you remember this song ido it got me that special lady wow

  • Time marches on...but these sounds stop time for me. Excellent music that will never be produced again. What a time the late 70's were!! Such an amazing time.

  • oh quit crying...lol... im 46 and luv hearing this stuff but moving on is best and there is a lot of talent ..u just turned into ur parents...lol

  • Remember this in 6th grade...late 1978/early 1979. What an era it was.

  • love this song thank you 4 posting it

  • every time i here this song im reminded of you looking at me telling me we need to part i was so sad from the loss but i hope you are well beth kennedy

  • reminds me of a long lost love beth she was my world but i let her slip thru my fingers hope she thinks of me sometimes i sure think of her at times great song great great band

  • Many memories.

  • iuse to get so stoned to this song

  • Not everyone knows how to love because they do not love themselves. This song has profound lyrics and the music is awesome. I have always loved this song despite the darkness inside it. The composition of this song is perfect.

  • Oh lawwwd! I had forgot all about this side! I LOVED THIS JAM!!!!!!

  • One of my first albums bought and Im 62yrs old, was 19 then, wow, life has been a roller coaster, keep the memories. at least the words we can understand, life

  • Strange way darling! You know who you R !

  • i have always loved this song too..

  • I love this song so much. I was listening to AFN (Armed Forces Network) in Kandahar Afghanistan and this great song came on. The memories of my youth came back. I had to come here and download it. Thank you.

  • i flat out love this song how fast our youth is gone please be kind to your love ones

  • The first time I ever listened to this tune; I felt something quite special. I was raised in somewhat of a "successful" musical family; despite of who I am today; I somehow feel a constant connection to these words.

  • The first time I heard this was through the headphones on an Air Canada Boeing 747 on the way to Switzerland for the Silver Broom in 1979. Good to hear it again.

  • Love this track, but I think I prefer 'Anymore'. Can't find it on here! Does anybody have it?

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww just f'n SWEET

  • @tamerswan - I think the lyrics is what makes this song. I think the 70's were a very different time for many things, especially views on love and friendship. Half of these guys were married or committed, but cheated around constantly. But some of their wives and girlfriends did the same thing as many of them only got hooked with them b/c of their musical status and whatnot. I would agree the lyrics r harsh to an extent, but I think most of can relate to relationships like that at some point.

  • Goddamn, this song brings back some good memories...

  • One of my favorite songs from the 70's.Luv the instruments.

  • This is one of those songs that makes me feel so mesmerized. I get the same feelings from Wildfire, A Horse with no Name, Year of the Cat, and Baker Street.

  • where is MARK ANDES ? i know he was in HEART for a while, and ANN WILSON'S boyfriend

  • thanx 4 posting this song!!

  • These guys were very comparable to the Eagles yet it's the Eagles that get lots of love on classic rock radio & (classic rock radio) gave Firefall the cold shoulder. I just don't get it?

  • sounds as good as the first time i heard it,and only gets better with age.

  • Makes me think of one particular cowardly a**hole, currently. Out with the old and In with the new.

    XX

  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song and video and I have seen them in concert one time a few years ago!! Got to meet them as well!! LOVE IT!!

  • My band played this back in the day still one of my favorites.

  • they were so good huh? I miss a lot of the old music.......but we change with the times.... remininissing (i think thats how u spell it) ha ha is good.. later T

  • Firefall hit #11 in Billboard, 12-9-78. Sure wish Rick Roberts'd come back and reunite with the band, right, gang? God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • I never knew this band. Back in the day whenever I heard this song I just asumed it was performed by Santana.

  • I will say this much todays music (mainly 1990-now) seems soo angry all the time and misses the true feel that "our generation" had back then in the 1970's

  • Saw them at a COLORADO SUNDAY in Boulder in '78.

  • I'm 51 and miss this kind of music like crazy. Bring back the 70's!!!

  • @montybgood48

I'm 44 and I miss it too! Bring the 80's with it.

  • All We Do Is Spark Mad Izm!!

  • 1974 Firefall forms in Boulder...I was a junior in High school in Aurora, Co at the time..1975 and they are producing an album...By my senior year they have a top ten hit with "You Are The Woman." They were considered homegrown talent in Colorado even though many were from the west coast. A great Band I will always remember and their music takes me right back to high school.

  • A beautiful song, but I also feel a gut punch that still hurts every time I hear it.One of THOSE break-up songs everyone has........

  • Are there any live videos of this song from back in the day?

  • I was hearing this in my head and started singing it. Love this song. When did it come out. I think back in the 80's. I remember hearing it then but forgot.

  • Time travel for sure!! Love this.

  • Wake Up In The Morning Got The Yearning For Herb. Spark The Ism, My Expertism Is Lyricism. My Flow Will Take You Over Like I Was Hypnotism.

All We Do Is Spark Mad Izm.

  • thats the awesome beauty of music...time travel. It's second in memory response only to smell.Smell is the# 1 memory trigger. just a random fact for ya all. btw...this a great song!!!

  • brilliant song ! perfectly sung

  • right on thank you ! had not heard this song in so many years i love it ! thanks

  • Damn,if THIS song is NOT a NOSTALGIC masterpiece,I don't know what is.I was about 4 or 5 when this was popular, always liked it,STILL DO.many thanx to the 1 who posted.

  • OMG...heard a stupid song by Toto on the way home and for some reason it made me think of this tune! I was 15 when this came out...

  • Firefall was always one of my favorite when-I've-got-shit-on-my-mind bands. I could feel what they were singing, and apply it to the situation.

  • Does anyone know if Fleetwood Mac's Christine McVie is featured as the backing vocals in this song? It sure does sound like her but I'm not sure.

  • Good sky above... Where did this kind of soulfulness go when it left music?

  • This song reels me back to my childhood in the late 70's.

  • @awesomeeras the song is about a very sad woman.

  • Saw 'em at the Mish in '96. Good show!

  • One of the top hits of 1979.

  • great song thnx

  • Great Song!!!!!

  • This song hits a home chord with me also. Even if it came out after my times. I am 62. and my first love was lost in Nam. But he used to tell me that all the time... I was so shy, and he would try to bring me out. Finally give up and say..............." You Have A Strange Way about you

  • Saw them as prep to Marshall Tucker Band in Missoula MT. This was before we lost Toy and Tommy. Magic is the word that keeps coming to mind. Nobody detracting from the show. Just so many people getting lost in some of the best times ever. No one wanted to go home. For me, it was back to base. Wait for orders. So gald I can pull these great memories up , close my eyes and drift away.

  • Man i miss those years

  • Saw them twice! AWESOME. Got to meet them also.

  • Another song where I wore out the 45 back in the day.

  • All We Do Is Spark Mad Izm.

  • Saw this group in the 80's in Winter Park, FL. Wow is all I can sound. Fantastic sound.

  • ...geeze I miss people making good music like this, we are poisened by Gaga and Bieber... classic rock is called classic for a reason, it's CLASSIC, CLASSY, and JUST PLAIN GOOD...

  • Peaked at #11 Pop in December, 1978

  • DONT CRY TO ME......

  • Good stuff. Kinda reminds me of the Little River Band.

  • @davidcattoor - I see some similarities but I like to think of this as what I'll call 'rocky mountain soft rock'.

  • One of my ALL TIME favorites. Thanks for posting.

  • It's a good one alright.

  • A Great Group of the 70's *Thumbs*Up*!!!!!*

  • One of my favorite songs from the 70's

  • long live firefall will be in richmond va on 3-12-20-11, who say you cant live in the past.stiill have their t-shirt

  • ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME. SWEET COMFORT. BEAUTIFULLY CALMING. THIS SONG IS A FOREVER CLASSIC.

  • I love this song. I'll never forget it. I'm 50.

  • @jeffuSG Me also...I'm 52 and I will share a memory about my youth. I was just about to turn 21 and working in a mall at a men's clothing store, directly across from our store was a music store and they would play this album "Elan" everyday. So when I here this song, my mind immeadiately flashes to that time period. I love the way music takes us to exact moments in time of our past. I wonder where the youth of today will return to when they hear their oldies?

  • @Krazede The youth of today will later remember rap/CRAP, gangbangin' violence, popin' caps, shootin' "niggas", chasing down women like dogs chasing dogs and screwin' in the alleys. That's about all I get out of what little I have been able to understand or catch in trying to avoid rap/crap.

  • @Krazede sadly, they will have their mass produced crap and never be privy to good music like this,.....thankfully, I am raising my son to love all types of music....

  • @Krazede to hell

  • @Krazede Well I'm about eighteen now, and for me, THIS is my oldies. My dad has done an AMAZING job at influencing me into the best music of the world.

  • This song is such an awesome song!! Firefall sure put out some great songs in the day. This song takes me back to days of true happiness and innocence. I miss those days. My heart just aches for those days. There was a magic in the air back then that you just cant feel today and that is a real shame. This song is pure magic in itself!! Missing those days but hold the memories so tightly in my heart forever!! ☺♥

  • @awesomeeras131 What a great way to describe the Music and the feel from that time. I am almost 50 and could not have said it better and I miss that time in my life so much. Happy New Year ! And Be Blessed! Robby

  • @33891405 Thank you so much for your ever so kind words my friend!! Happy New Year to you as well my friend!! And many blessings your way too!! Carly ☺♥

  • @awesomeeras131 totally agreed, times were much simpler back then, unlike today with all the distractions of worldly BS!

  • @arrington77 Thank you my friend!! I couldnt agree more with what you said about today's worldly distractions. Total BS!! for sure!! :))

  • @awesomeeras131 there is a song like that for everyone......good to know.......

  • @awesomeeras131 This song is totally awesome, hands down. Too bad the accompanying video is just a bunch of stills woven together. And you're totally right: takes me back to days of childhood innocence. I, as well, would love to go back, if even for a day, but that is never going to happen, so we must put on a brave face and go forward and onward. Cheers, and God bless.
