This song is so heartbreakingly beautiful. This was the first time I ever heard Linda Eder sing and I've been an enormous fan ever since. No version I've heard since compares to this arrangement.

I always assumed Eder performed both Lisa/Emma and Lucy's songs on the concept album as a parallel to the duality if Jekyll and Hyde. Well, that and she was Wildhorn's muse for the project.

I know you posted this a while ago, but I figured I'd answer. This is the first incarnation of the show, and Linda sang both Lisa and Lucy's songs. I don't think they had decided who would play Lisa at the time of this recording.
