Well I thought I wouldn't like it.but I was so wrong the film is amazing. Latif Yahia his real life body double.normally I get bored but this film kept me interested great work guys :-D a must see film :-D

Once again, critics seem to have missed the mark with this one - one of the finest movies of 2011, in my opinion, with a breakthrough tour d'force performance by Dominic Cooper.

Sure the movie got bad reviews however I still liked this movie. It's very fairy tale like kinda but I think the bad reviews is mostly because all of the subject was too sensitive for most. Whatever. I thought it was interesting.

@mvp7vick I lived at his palace in Aadhamiya district of Baghdad in 2005 for 4 months, while I was in Iraq with U.S. Army. He apparently was quite a dirtbag, we heard some of the stories from the citizens of Aadhamiya. If he wanted a girl he saw on the street he'd take her. If you looked at him wrong you were dead. If your car stalled out infront of his palace, you were probably dead because of the paranoia.
@mvp7vick The palace was up yes, although it had a bunker buster dropped through the center of it in 2003 during our invasion. Half of the palace was still in tact, the other half was partially knocked down. I got to go through all of it, on the roof ect.. We were actually living in a smaller building on the grounds which used to house all of his security personell. There was troops there before us in 2004 who actually were using his pool. The pool was dirty by the time i got there in 2005

As for the people who think that Saddam is better than America, I would just like to tell them to go to Iraq and say that out loud and see the response they get. @robotragepub1 The Middle East still isn't civilized. Much of the country is war-torn and the infrastructure of the economy/government is either corrupt or uneducated. The industrialization of the company is horrid. The structures of Iraq are poor (roads, buildings, etc). People - for the most part - are not wealthy and their clothing and living conditions reflect that. Oh, and then there's certain religious restrictions that degrade women and treat men (of that culture) like God's. It's a joke!

I am proud to be a Kurd.....Latif Yahia was a Kurd and he never gave up to Uday or Saddam Hussain, that is what the kurds are known for, they never give up. Latif Yahia was the one who shot Uday, no one could ever shoot Saddam Hussain's son, but Latif Yahia did.

They are far more modern and civilized than the Middle East has ever been. The mentality of most POWERFUL Middle Eastern men is what has held that region back for 2,000 years. @bsptlw yeah! the food here is amazing...i have eaten many kinds of food but kurdish food is the best. i am studying in an american school in sulaymanyah our literature teacher loves Biryani (it is a famous food in the Middle East) he is addicted to it. whenever we talk about food he talks about biryani.

USA only removed Saddam only to get rid of a threat they created. Yes, by that I mean they brought Saddm Hussein and created the Ba'ath Party and embedded it in the Iraqi and Syrian governments. As logical as it may seem, eventually when Saddam finally rose from being the Prime Minister to become the "president" of the Iraqi "republic", he felt powerful enough to disobey american orders. Thus, USA found the WMDs excuse to "get rid" of that filthy asshole that they fed with power.

@peace514 You're correct! We (America/CIA) aided in the coup of Qasim and gave way to the Ba'ath Party, which proved to be a murderous, socialist mob faction. We, essentially, implanted an eventual raving-lunatic (Hussein) as the central leader of Iraqi. There's not enough apologies to give the Iraqi people. All I can say is I hope the world has learned from America's mistake(s). We're not perfect... although some (here) think we are. I truly hope the best for Iraq/the Middle East.

As for the people who think that Saddam is better than America, I would just like to tell them to go to Iraq and say that out loud and see the response they get. Saddam killed 1.5 million in the Iran-Iraq war, more in the gulf war and raged genocide on the Kurds, the Americans have built schools, bridges and established a central government of democracy. All that is left is to eradicate the small "packs" of terrorists.

@robotragepub1 The Middle East still isn't civilized. Much of the country is war-torn and the infrastructure of the economy/government is either corrupt or uneducated. The industrialization of the company is horrid. The structures of Iraq are poor (roads, buildings, etc). People - for the most part - are not wealthy and their clothing and living conditions reflect that. Oh, and then there's certain religious restrictions that degrade women and treat men (of that culture) like God's. It's a joke!

Tell me how much advancement the Middle East did in the areas of technology, science, astronomy/astrology, medicine, physics, entertainment, religion (you're still fighting a war that over 2,000 yrs old). It's not about "beginning" something. It's about "EVOLVING" it. I would bet that 80% of the Middle East looks the same way, today, that it did back in the 1940's and 1950's.

USA produces around 8 million barrels per day as opposed to the 20 million they consume. So lets say your 42 percent is right (which you aren't) and the middle east shut off their oil. What would make you think that Russia would give you their oil, or the UK, more importantly you also consume almost triple the amount you consume, so if Middle east cut their oil, bad times. L2maths
