Ahh, screw all of you. I made the foul call, and he hit the back of my left hand so much it actually stung. But of course you all know better.
And what the video doesn't show is Anders getting the crowd riled up by continually raising his hands and me exploding at him because I know none of you johny come latelys will ever think it is a foul. Because fouls apparently don't happen at double-game point.
You can't actually see if it was a foul or not from this, surely? I could see how it could've been a foul, the Swedish guy could've easily hit the US guys hands/arms... but similarly, perhaps he didn't! You can't tell from this vid, and clearly everyone was already booing Boston anyway, so would've seen what they wanted to have seen if it was a really close call? I don't know either way.
there are two many people who make big calls like that in desperate times. i think that if the score is tied in over time to play everything out. like a suicide point.
It looks to me as though he wasn't calling a foul on contact during the d, rather that there was contact on the positioning that led to him not catching the disc.
lurker1111: come on, you can't say that call didn't score the disc, what if he didn't make that call? Sweden should have a great chance to win the game with just a few yards from the end zone. If I were American I would have been embarresed.
Still, the call didn't score the disc. There were seven throws after. One a high floater on the break side, another a defender who lost position and the disc and got beat on the cut back, and another that was a totally uncontested upline.
Any of those could have and should have at least had a play on them.
I was there, played in the swedish juniors team (we just won the gold before this game), people was very angry after that call, many upset feelings. :/

Boston. Always the standard of good sportsmanship and Spirit of the Game. Except when they were cheating to win.
